Hit and miss hunting club next to Portland Landing in the 70's. We killed 43 bucks opening weekend once and most of them were good bucks.

Coffeeville was the chit back in the day. Not so much now, it still holds some deer in some area's, but it's definitely seen it's share of if it's brown it's down....

I think my uncles were among the founders of Snow Hill Hunting Club. They hunted down there and I believe that was the name of the club. The campsite was at an old store in Furman. I hunted with them in the late 70's some back then the club rules were 1. There are no club rules and 2. Don't get caught.

There was a very large but genial man named G.W. that put Crown Royal in everything he drank. In the morning he fixed a coffee Royale, then some milk Royale, around lunch he started on Coke Royale. He rarely left the bus they turned into a camper. Instead he chose to use his time away from his wife to stay drunk. He kept the place entertained to say the least. How I learned to kill deer was hunting with them some and not doing what they did

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Ever since they allowed doe season to be year round, the deer started to vanish...I remember as a kid seeing 36 does in one green field with bucks all over and now if you see 1/2 your doing good in the same field...

Back in the mid-late 90’s I went with my cousin and uncle to their hunting club in Pickens county. I think the name was Sweet16, I think l killed a deer every time I went. I definitely saw more deer at that club than anywhere I’ve ever hunted. We would hunt morning, evening, and sometimes midday. I can’t ever remember going in a set and not seeing anything.

When I was about 10 years old. My dad and I hunted in Big Buck Hunting Club in Georgiana for about 4 or 5 years. They had a crap ton of land 1/2 of it was dog hunting and 1/2 was stalk hunting. They would have a breakfast buffet every Saturday morning for $2 each. The place was infested with deer. We had a little RV camper we kept there. We would drive down every Friday after school during gun season. There was a group of guys who hunted there from Lousianna and they would have a huge crawfish boil the last weekend of season. It was a lot of fun.

NW Mobile County, along the Escatawpa River, late 80's.

Land was slap infested with deer. You had to make an effort to NOT see a deer on that place. Excellent place for a kid to develop a passion for hunting and watching deer to learn about their behavior.

Lake Hollalla property when it was leased by Lackey Stephens.

It had more deer, turkeys and hogs than any place I have ever seen. There was a large field in the middle of it that I sat in frequently. It was not uncommon to see 55-60 deer in an afternoon.
