Pretty ironic that after all their big talk during the Obama years, the Republican-led Congress and White House are now supporting gun control. You can't trust these guys with anything.
And for those who don't know, Trump came out in support of universal background checks.

It's coming this time. What is funny though, this particular shooting shows that THE LAWS ON THE BOOKS mean absolutely nothing if you don't do your due diligence in making sure they are followed. The only thing that would've prevented this massacre is people actually doing their damn job.
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

Guns will be the next confederate flags and monuments Yep. Only "rednecks" will support keeping laws as-is. And Republicans have major "wealth guilt" over their new-found power. They'll give it all up to seem moderate.

At least they're better than democrats..... This is what happens when you keep voting for bad candidates just because the other side is a little worse. You keep giving more and more power to the liberal contingent of republicans until they become the voice of the party. The RNC never had to put up better candidates or move more toward the right because voters never demanded better. They voted for the R because the D was a little worse. This is the end result. Two democratic parties ruling over the country and trampling our rights.

Bye Bye bump stocks, age 21 and a waiting period for ARs and such, universal background checks are on the horizon.

I see raising the age to 21 for gun purchases. I have no problem with universal background checks. Open up the system to everyone, not just FFL's. All you need is a Yes or No answer on the background check. If the Dem's get control, I bet they will require the automation of the BAFT database and tracking of all gun purchases and transfers. I really don't see an AR ban. What part of "Shall Not Be Infringed" do you not understand?

I really don't see an AR ban. What part of "Shall Not Be Infringed" do you not understand? Do you think the current background check requirements are already infringing on your right to "keep and bear arms"? Worth noting, the 2nd Amendment says nothing about your right to or the method of controlling "purchasing or acquiring" arms. Just that we have the right keep and bear them. Not to mention the whole militia part in there. I'm all about keeping the government out of our business and I don't think we need anymore gun control, but I can promise you those specific words used - or for that matter words not used - in the text of the 2A will be exploited in the future.

I really don't see an AR ban. What part of "Shall Not Be Infringed" do you not understand? I understand the "Shall not be infringed" part very well. However there are some people who should not own or have access to a firearm, specifically the mentally ill. It is always these crazy folks who do these mass shootings (because a sane person would not do such a thing). I dont think simply taking the rights away for these people to have a weapon will help. Hell, it is already illegal to kill people but they do it anyway. Simply making it illegal wont fix anything. They could magically remove all AR's from the planet and these crazy people would use a shotgun or bomb to kill people. The goal is to prevent the mass shooting. But the politicians want everyone to think they did something so they will pass a worthless law so they can say "we tried, we did something", but they are not willing to spend what needs to be spent to fix the problem. The US has a HUGE problem with crazy people. And the only way to ensure that they dont kill other people is to put them away in a mental institution. But that is going to cost a TON of money, and then you get the liberals who say doing such a thing is cruel and will fight it. It costs nothing to their budgets to pass a law outlawing a gun to prevent a crime, but that crime will still occur just with a different weapon. I would rather decriminalize pot (and I have never smoked it and never plan to do so) and use the money currently being used to imprison a non violent pot head to put these crazies away. They only way to keep them from killing people is to put them in a place where they cannot do so.
I love my country, but don't trust my government.

I sure wish republican voters would hold candidates to a higher standard instead of just advocating bending over and taking it. Some would even expect us to throw in a thank you.
