I'm looking to get my 870 dipped before turkey season, has anybody had any experience with Baker Hydrographics in Huntsville? Or any experience with getting a shotgun dipped at all, for that matter. Thanks in advance.

I'm going to add on a question if you don't mind. Need someone that will dip in Original Bottomland. I heard Baker has this pattern. If anyone knows if that is correct please chime in. Thanks.

Yes, I saw some images on their Facebook page of some guns that they'd done in the old school bottom land, as well as the more recent pattern. I just wanna hear from someone who has used them

Me and a couple of buddies decicded to let him dip a few turkey guns for us. He has had them since October 14th. We were told it would be a 10-15 day turn around time. I did tell him not to rush on them since they were turkey guns and it was the middle of October. He said he may run a little over the 10-15 day mark but if he did it wouldn’t be by much. Hopefully he will have them ready soon...

I'd highly recommend WWguns in Danville. They do great work and do what they say they will do. I can understand lead times can vary but there's no excuse to quote a man 10-15 days turnaround and 4 months later he's still waiting on his gun. Sorry but that's just shitty business IMHO. WWguns has been in the dipping and cerakote business for several years now and does work nationwide. They've done all my work because they won me over by doing what they said they would do and when they said they would do it.

WWGuns is The reason I decided to try Bakers. WWGuns dipped my wedding ring, sunglasses and my browning cynergy. My wedding ring started chipping the day I got it back. He put mine and my buddy’s shotguns back together wrong. I just got my cynergy back from being dipped a second time. My glasses have been dipped twice and is still not holding up...

WW guns ruined my 1187 12ga. Rusted out terribly. I thought at first they were good til I changed to a real shop. I can't tell anybody enough to run from WW guns.

Cole Baker does fantastic work. You can bet it will be done right and will hold up. You're not gonna get it back before turkey season starts though.

Its hard to find that old school bottomland anymore. I had a buddy who worked with mossy oak do a 20 ga for me several years back. It turned out fantastic. Wanted another one done recently, he'd sold his dipping business and I couldn't find anyone else to do it.

About 2 years ago my son had 2 shotguns dipped by Baker and they turned out great. They still look like they did the day he picked them up. It takes a while for the work to be done but it's top shelf work and I'd use him in a heartbeat.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I was in Huntsville for work and decided to stop in to check the place out. I was the only one there and he showed me around the shop, showed me some of the work he'd done, told me all about it and even let me watch and record him dipping a shotgun receiver in Bottomland. I can understand being frustrated with long lead times, but I'm just going to plan accordingly and use him because I know it will be done right. I'll be taking all of my guns to him.

Between my dad an I we have had probably 5+ guns dipped there and numerous parts for guns. Cole Baker is a very stand up guy but the wait times can be a bit long due to him not having many workers and he has tons of customers.

I spray painted my 870 and it has held up great. However I saw this from the Shot Show, cerakote in Bottomland. Soon as I find out who can do it I’m going this route if it doesn’t cost more than the shotgun. smile

Marks outdoors does the original bottomland and the new bottomland. I’ve had both done in the past year

Y’all better hope your gun looks better than mine or the umpteen others I’ve seen since having mine dipped by bakers. Baker dipped mine in bottomland and from far off it looks ok, but up close it sucks. Its a pump 870 and has been shot 5 times and is already wearing off. Hell the day he handed it back to me it had all kinds of spots where the film hadn’t even touched the gun. I watched him cover it up with a paint pen of some sort. He quoted me 2 weeks, took 9 weeks, and when I picked it back up the barrel had rust pits all along the inside of the barrel where he didn’t even clean the water out before letting it sit. Worst $150 I’ve ever spent on hunting I think.

Try John Gallagher for cerakote work. He's just north of jasper. I don't think he does any camo dipping but may be able to help you find someone.

Apparently, Baker is back in business somewhere.

I think looking elsewhere is probably wise, though.

Whatever. Missed the preseason window for having several coated and dipped. There’s other folks.
