This is the first year in a long time that I haven’t put any effort into chasing ducks. My lab somehow managed to hurt her left wrist and right knee a few months ago, and isn’t able to run like she wants too. Even on her good days, I couldn’t risk hurting her even more. I hunted twice this year, and it just isn’t the same without your hunting buddy. I just didn’t have any desire to go without my dog.

I did take my little mag 20 out on my first hunt and killed 2 shovelers with it. Never would have thought 2 shovelers would be the highlight of any season. Now it is time to start puppy hunting, I have a lead on a yellow female who will hopefully be bred in the next couple months. Hope everyones season was better than mine.
