From past experience there are 2 types of dogs you catch in a foothold trap.
There are the ones that are wagging their tails when you walk up and then there is that other kind. STRONGLY suggest using a control pole for the other kind.

There are the ones that are wagging their tails when you walk up and then there is that other kind. STRONGLY suggest using a control pole for the other kind. Seriously thinking about throwing a section of plywood with a notch in the bottom on the truck for those situations.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Yesterday this thread sent me to YouTube to look up dogs vs coyotes, and I found several videos by one guy or group of guys in the midwest that hunt coyotes using Greyhound dogs. Anyone seen this before? I found it fascinating to watch. Greyhounds Chase and Kill Coyotes That is pretty cool! You dang right thats cool. Those dogs are flyin !! Even the truck cant catch them and he's hammered down. Thanks for posting NWALJM  I thought it was one of the most fascinating things I've ever watched concerning hunting methods for any type of game or predator.
