That's kinda what a real mechanic would do there Jake, just in case your wondering. Maybe that diagnostic tree will help in the future. I don't know what's wrong with the truck I haven't laid hands on it or diagnosed it, most of what's been listed here could be the cause along with several other things that have not been mentioned.

A REAL mechanic would tell you he don't fix trucks over the internet that's the reason someone with the sense God gave a rock would realize I've not said what's wrong with it or what I'd do to fix it

I think there has been a lot of good advice on things to check no doubt.
I don't mind giving advice on how to do the testing or options afterward and will answer any direct question to the best of my ability, that's how I ruled out the distributor, but today's engine is a complicated electronic/mechanical computer and I am not the best at some of the late model diagnostics, but I do pay some guys that are close to the top if not on it.

Installing a Range Technology module will keep the AFM from activating. We currently have 2 of these in use. I put a Diablo in my 07 Tahoe last year to take care of the AFM and no more oil consumption Me too

I think there has been a lot of good advice on things to check no doubt.
I don't mind giving advice on how to do the testing or options afterward and will answer any direct question to the best of my ability, that's how I ruled out the distributor, but today's engine is a complicated electronic/mechanical computer and I am not the best at some of the late model diagnostics, but I do pay some guys that are close to the top if not on it. Yup...I used to rebuild older Chevy and Fords with my eyes closed. Now, I sometimes open the hood and just stand there scratching my head. I am able to change my plugs and plug wires though...Oh yeah and the oil pressure switch "the book" says will take 3 hours labor to get to and replace and put back together, I did in 30 minutes
