Wanted to try it yesterday, but wound up working on one of the rent houses until dark. Been working on this for about a month, but we now have reached the summit and are on the down hill slide. I shoot two bucks a year, and I killed another nice 8 pt the week of Christmas so I have basically tagged out. Have fun and stay warm today. I just ain't as mad at em as I used to be.

My alarm went off at 5 and I turned that sucker off and slept in. I'm in the burnt out stage but will give it a go right after lunch until dark

Had the 9 pnt ive been hunting at 50 yds and broadside, coulda killed him dead. The only problem with shooting him was it being 5:30 this AM. He was standing in the old road bed as I was walking in. He was headed toward his bedding area and I shoulda stayed in bed.

One off them days I'm glad I Tagged out on 1-8-18 exactly a year to the day from last year when I was done . Hoping to put the wife on a 135 " ten that's been eluding me or the trophy 17-18" beamed 4 yr spike I passed on two weeks ago . Both are trophies in my opinion.

Hunted the same ladder stand this AM as yesterday, when I saw a 200+ lb hog, a doe and a fawn. Nothing moving this morning but at 9:45 spooked a doe. Hunting in Wilcox County on the Wilcox Academy Hunt. Going back to the same stand after lunch- Ive killed four bucks and a huge bobcat from it in prior years

Did the other hunters bring any many bucks yesterday or this morning?

Im in my ladder doing a little midday sit. Very disappointed with camera pull by the stand. This spot has not turned out as Id hoped.
Going to sit it for an hour or so, then go watch my niece play ball.
Got to come up with me a plan B for my next few deer sits....

Was able to get one of my drivers his first buck, dropped it af 7:30. Going to sit in the honey hole this afternoon. Haven't hunted this 4 acre pasture since last season but last camera pull showed a promising bruiser coming everyday in the evening.

I went to the Nat'l Forest about 1/2 mile from the Cheaha State Park, made a big walking loop for about 2.5 hours. Surprisingly, I saw a lot of sign, just no deer.

Bout froze my finger tips off and didn't see anything. Wind was up around 20mph. I came home and made some deer sausage, eggs, and homemade biscuits. I'm warm by the fire now.

I'm at it this afternoon. Missed a small buck this morning hoping for redemption this afternoon. Thought I'd get in a bottom to get out of the wind and all it's done is made it swirl
