I have a summit climber and havent had much experience bow hunting. I would say I climbed up about 15 feet or so the past few times I went. Is that a good height to be hunting? I just want to know whats the best range and if there are any helpful tips i would appreciate those too, thanks.

One of the primary reason for treestands is to have better consealment.....get up as high as your cover is...if you have cover at 12ft and not at 16, stay at 12 ft

I have a 20-foot rope I used to raise and lower my bow.

When I climb, I attach that cord to my belt loop. When I hit 20 feet (depending on cover, as ssccbucks stated) then I know how high I am and can stop or go a little higher.

Twenty is about all I want, though. My high-scaling days in treetops are over.

Like everyone said depend's on the cover! But you also have to look at the higher you climb the more of an angle you get on the deer and that gives you a smaller size kill zone!
