I don't know how many people are hunting over corn, but I know the gas station between where I live and hunt sold over two pallets of corn in less than a week. I wish they would just make it legal and be done with it. I have never done it but I think it is just stupid to be writing people tickets for using corn to kill something that everybody is trying to kill using every gadget, and planting anything and everything known to man but corn out of a bag is where we are drawing the line. Hell. The gas stations don't sell corn "until hunting season" LMAO That's right cause that is when it is corn selling season.
If you're gonna be stupid you better be tough.

How do deer "go nocturnal" because of a pile of corn or a feeder?

I think that with a 5 month season, unlimited bag limits, no idea how many deer are in certain parts of the state, etc. etc. some corn on the ground should probably be really, really, low on the DCNR and Game Wardens daily --- to do --- list.
There are a whole bunch of bigger issues in parts of the state than people dumping out some corn or rice bran. It probably does make a few deer nocturnal, but it sure does give them something to eat once the pinestraw, broom sage, sweetgum balls, and chemical sprayed foliage is wilted -- insert sarcasm.
I was in a club years ago, and there was a retired guy that hunted 7 days a week. Dude was straight up filled with the spirit against corn or any feed. He said there were enough mushrooms growing in the pines and sweetgum buds to feed 1000 deer the whole winter. hmmmmmmm, wonder if he was dumping some corn out during the week.

Folks have to be careful combining the Clorox Stump and GeeEmmOooos or they could get some really wild nontypicals that only come out at night.

So the guy isn't a member but put 5 feeders out this season? Or he put them out last year and y'all didn't know they were there? Why give him till his off day to clean it up? What am I missing here, this story doesn't make a lot of sense. no he is a member but he was there last year when we put the others out, then he puts out 5 feeders . i guess we got rid of his competition so he went all out this year If he had five 55 gallon feeders and was keeping them full he was serious. I could probably get over all that as long as he told everybody where they were at, and he would keep them going year around.

I bet there is a game warden reading this thread and tracking down the location right now. He is probably google earthing the location and planning his sneak attack on the 5 feeder corn dumper filled with the GMO corn. Probably get the 5 feeder dumper culprits picture put in the newspaper. no need the wardens that checked my buddy had them all on their phone . they showed it to my buddy and he said it looked like google earth map with all the corn marked. he is on the property almost every week year round and he didnt know it was there

Just have the corn 100 yds away and out of sight. Then you're legal.
And it's 10 days from corn removal, not 15, I believe. Correct. I was told it can't be on the ground, it must be in a feeder or trough.. if it's on the ground they will call it baiting.

I've hunted over corn, it's legal in FL, but with that said. I've had pictures of nice bucks in the area before corn was put out and after corn was put out, never another picture of a mature buck and only young bucks. They know it's not suppose to be there, but if you have a corn field planted they will hammer it after dark.
Is it Hunting Season Yet?
