I have a couple of hives in my back yard in Hoover. I give the neighbors a couple of jars of honey so they don't complain. New guy moved in across my back fence and I just got around to meeting him a few weeks ago. Anyway, I gave him a pound of honey and told him the bees should not be bothering him during the summer. He then proceeds to tell me how he had to get an exterminating company out a couple of months ago to get the honey bee hive out of his house. Hmmmmm, wonder where that hive came from? Oops. Seriously thinking about relocating those two hives to the farm in February. smile He didn't seem too mad. Heck, he even gave me a pint of moonshine in exchange for the honey!

should have told him to let you know if it happened again. That way you get a new hive.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

if he's a shiner, he don't mind no bees.

I moved the two neighborhood hives this weekend. Blocked the hive with wire, used a couple of ratchet straps and loaded them in the truck. Moved them about 125 miles south. The move was a lot easier than I was expecting as far as physically relocating them. I was a little worried about the bees swarming into my house or a neighbors house one but secondly, they just didn't produce a lot of honey last summer. And, what they did produce was a dark honey that didn't taste very well. Moved them to a farm that has tons of clover so hopefully I will end up with more and better product.
