I was at Bass Pro today and broke down and laid the big bucks on a block 4x4. I needed a new target, but did zero research on em before pulling the trigger.

Did I waste my money or are they as advertised?

THey are hard to wear out unless you do a lot of broad head shooting.

After a 100 shots not using a broadhead my arrows where sticking through the back and tearing off my fletchings..If you want a good tagert get a bag target after sveral 1000's of shots the arrows still do not stick out the back of the bag..

WIGEON, you mentioned shooting the 4x4 with broadheads and having the 100 shot issue. Surely, you can't be serious about shooting a bag target with a broadhead. That would shread the heck out of it!

I will do 90% of my shooting with field points and the rest with broadheads to make sure I am on with them. I have great hope that this target will last me a hand full of seasons. I don't shoot until August or so and sparatically throughout the season. My last layered target lasted me at least 3 seasons, but it didn't have the rubber like coating of the 4x4.

BTW - I have a bag target but never shoot it with a broadhead b/c it is not recommended.

you missed read him he said he had shot without using broadheads and had problems with the arrows coming out the back side. I to have had this problem... I think the block is over rated...My bow shoots in the 260 FPS range and i have shot numerous arrows where the only thing sticking out was the nock and it warped the vanes and this was with field points. Every time i've shot it with broadheads it made huge chunks come out of the block.. myself i think it's a terrible overated product but thats just my opion..
