Just dropped the gate on this trap again. It is located at the club in Wilcox County. The wife and I set it up on Feb 11th this year. Since it has been setup, it has caught 9 times counting tonight.

The first 8 catches totaled 71 pigs. Three of those catches were single boars. Three of those catches were catches of 16, 18, and 21.

I am pretty sure this catch will get us over the 790 total. Getting closer to 801 and a new AHC annual record!

Anyone want any pigs tomorrow?

Shana's in Shorter just became licensed to process them. Have to have clean and quartered meat (no gutting/ skinning).

There were 15 in the trap this time. Four sows, 5 gilts, and 6 little boars.

Dropped the gate on another big boar. Made 10 catches for 87 hog at this location and 32 catches for 242 pigs in 3 locations since Sept 2015.

It is time to move it again. I have a big sounder tearing up a plot on the club. Will move it this weekend. This will be a setup, catch, and move it out situation this time. One of our favorite plots for deer hunting.

Barry - I assume you are you watching them on camera when you drop the gate.

The reason I ask - I was wondering what type of delay you get on the video and the drop.

From the time you drop the gate, until you get onsite for the kill - what would you guess would be the number that jump the fence or go through the fence?

I know it wouldn’t happen often, but I was curious about the escapees.

I'd think it would be 0 escapees due to the fence and gates Barry uses.

From what I know they can't get out period. Panels are 5 ft high and a round trap like Barry uses prevents corners the hogs can use to stand on one another. Unless The wire ties fail the trap is pretty much escape proof. Mine I bought from Barry has never lost a hog thus far

I haven't lost a pig since we went to 60 inch panels.

I moved the trap from the Little Bit location this weekend. I caught ten times in that spot. I moved it on a big sounder but it is one of our best deer plots. I hope to catch this sounder this week and get the trap out before the deer hunting gets good.
