Think of deer season as several phases. First you have late summer, early fall, when the deer are really hungry. I always see lots of deer during bow season.Deer have put on lots of fat with the bumper acorn crop we have this year. Then you have pre rut where we hardly see any daytime movement. Its usually called the december lull. Then you have the rut where daytime activity will really pick up, especially bucks searching for hot does. And then post rut where daytime activity slows down for us.All that being said, your probably wasting time until the rut starts happening in your area.
You haven't been blocked until you've been flock blocked!!!

I find that odds go way down on small acreage once the rut starts. YMMV
I'd hunt it and not worry to much about it. I remember you saying that before. I'm guessing the rut is starting up because I have pictures of a doe being chased by a buck. If they'll stay on the property while chasing, then it would be awesome. They always seem to leave places I've hunted, though. It's boring, until that right doe comes by. Good luck.

Find their favorite restaurant or bar and ambush them there. Maybe the local gentleman's club? Maybe in the carpool line? Find out what time and path they take when they put their trash on the street and send an arrow through them then. When I need a doe for the freezer, it pays to find out where they are all playing Bunko or getting together for the mimosa lunch and griping about why their bucks are always out at night and sneaking back in at daybreak. Hope this helps. Dr. B

I liked the first couple of episodes then I realized these guys are a couple d-bags. You can do a google search on them, I forget which one but he is a real piece of work. There was also a real good thread on archery talk about them as well, definitely worth the read.

Id hunt it as often as i could. Tho youve probly done this..id pay alot of attention to your edges, tho deer probly enter and exit in multiple places throughout a small property, your odds should be greatly increased using land features and the direction of the neighborhoods. Finding these well used areas will pattern deer even if there is limited daytime use. Your seeing deer chase, id suspect as long as your present one will eventually make a mistake. I know in an urban setting, sometimes its hard to do, but a high powered rifle is a good small acreage tool unless you cant use one or your just deadset on killin one with a bow. Good luck brother.
