I have a Remington 783 in 270 that does not feed correctly when using the magazine. When I go to push the bolt forward, the round seems to miss the chamber either low or to the left. I am by no means proficient in diagnosing gun issues so any help would be appreciated.

Hard to diagnose over the internet, but the first thing I'd do is make sure the mag is seated properly.

Sounds like the mag lips are too tight on the forward end.

Buddy of mine has one and I think a piece of the mag cracked or broke on his. He replaced mag and all was walk, if Im remembering right. Isnt it a detachable plastic mag? Id inspect it closely to make sure nothing was amiss.
