Looking at getting a ceramic grill in the next few months. Who has the best prices on a BGE, kamado joe or similar grill in north alabama or southern tennessee?

That price must be for the mini. The regular one is normally $549 but I've seen it on sale for $499 with free shipping.

I drove down to ABSCO down in Pelham last fathers day and got my green egg!! I was going to purchase closest to my house which was in Hartselle, but they wanted like $750 plus tax. ABSCO had a special that weekend at $579 plus tax. Guy said that was the lowest they had ever sold them.

Keep a check on kamado roadshow at Costco. It is usually several 100 off. I have the large KJ but I would like a big primos. I was wanting to go to the jack Daniels cookoff and buy a demo but I didn't.

If you decide to go with BGE check Story & Lee Furniture in Leoma, TN (just south of Lawrenceburg) or Ken's Sewing Center in Muscle Shoals. I got mine at Story & Lee with furniture so I was able to bundle a deal.

I have owned 2 BGE and 1 Primo. Still have a BGE mini and a Primo Jr Oval.

I think BGE has lowest overall fit and finish of the larger brands but like Yeti, they have their following.

I like the Jr Oval, but over the years I've had to buy 2 fire grates at about $40 a pop. They're cast steel and crack. First one cracked violently and cracked the fire box liner. They replaced the liner for free but I had to pay $40 in shipping. It's about time to replace the grill grate now, but I've had it about 7 years or so. I've already replaced the thermometer once and now it's stuck again. Again, more $ in upkeep. The hardware is just OK, and the powder coat has been peeling for a couple years now. I need to take it apart and grind off the powdercoating and repaint it with BBQ grill paint.

On the BGE, the fit has been a little off between the top and bottom on both of the grills I've owned. The paint/powdercoat on the hardware is about like the Primo. At least the thermometer and fire grate have lasted on it, but I don't use the mini near as much since it's more of a tailgate grill.

If I were going to spend $500+ today, I would probably get a Kamado Joe with the Stainless Steel hardware. Only reason is the SS hardware and not necessarily the ceramic. I don't want ANY more carbon steel on a "lifetime" grill. If Primo made one with all Stainless Steel inside and out, I'd definitely consider another Oval because I like the oval over the circular shape.

If it's supposed to last a lifetime, then why doesn't it?
