Any of you upstate and elsewhere hear about this? I know a good deal about it because I know a brother of the man killed, but I will not say anything on a public forum about it. I will say it appears to me the shooting was in self defense, but I wasn't there, and there is lots of talk, as you can imagine. man shot and killed

Wow, following this guy was a bad move and then to box him in with their cars? I am on not taking sides, but this could have been easily avoided.
I don't always hunt the line, but when I do, I make sure I'm close to my neighbor's 8 acre bean field.

A little confusing to follow the article as to who is who. I know I've had to stand down a time or two on a couple of road situations. Most of the time it's better to just bow out and deescelate no matter how right you may be.

Taking what is written at face value: It never says that the shooter initially drew his gun or pointed his gun at anyone. Says he got out with a gun, as most of us would have done, if we were boxed in by 3 men and thought it was going to be a 2 or 3 on one confrontation. Says the victim jumped out says "that's my son" and pointed his gun at the shooter. Then it says that the shooter then drew (meaning that his weapon was still concealed or holstered??) his gun and shot 3 times hitting the victim. Hate that it happened but that is justifiable fear for his life in my opinion. In FL, if he had his concealed carry and the pistol was legally owned, the shooter would never be charged by the grand jury for the shooting. He'd be charged with the original physical assault but definitely not for the shooting. After being chased for 15 minutes and then boxed in and cornered by 3 men one of which is pointing a gun at him, he just defended himself. Both tragic and senseless.

Road rage is so easily avoidable, most times. As my dad has always told me, "discretion is the better part of valor". Very sad situation.

Drivers education is severely lacking these days. I mean people are just bad drivers nowadays and you combine that with people unable to control their anger and you have situations like this. I had a lady today cut me off in front of Raceway in Guntersville. I was in the left lane and she cut right in between me and the car in front of me only to merge right into the turning lane. Wasn’t a car behind me for 200 yards so all she had to do was slow down a little and merge behind me. Not trying to hijack your thread. My only point is people get behind the wheel of a car and lose all common sense either just driving terrible or losing control getting mad at those drivers.
I hope we have once again reminded people that man is not free unless government is limited. Theres a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: as government expands, liberty contracts. Ronald Reagan

As one of my uncles used to say, "it shorely nuff is the truth." Drivers get worse every year. There is an increasing number who wanna tailgate me but refuse to pass, even when I slow way up so they can. I had a guy tailgating me this week that stayed right on my bumper no matter how fast I went. I hit a long stretch of open road and he still wouldn't pass. Slowed down to 20 and he still wouldn't pass. I decided to see how fast my truck would run and he stayed right on my bumper. It had gone from annoyance to concern by that point, but he finally turned off behind me. I have no idea why he did that. He looked like a working man and was driving a one ton. Probably on something.

I drove from Woodstock down 459, down 280 to Hwy 119 and back yesterday afternoon. Left the house about 3:15pm, sat at destination maybe 20 minutes and got home at 6:30. Damn 280 was a parking lot going both ways. Had a girl pull out crossing and stop completely blocking my lane...had to slam on the brakes to keep from broadsiding her. Idiot. Folks changing lanes at the last minute will just come over on you . I really hate the assholes that slow down well before a light so they(and you) can get caught by it. Damn 459 was another parking lot going home. I'd quit any job on earth if I had to make that drive every day.

If u look around at folks....tons of them have a dang phone in their hand while driving. Half the people i see are texting or have it in their hand This. I dont understand the phone looking obsession.

PCP, years ago I was driving down 459 and the road was damn near empty of traffic. A car came up behind me going at least 20mph faster than I was, got on my azz and STAYED THERE. I sped up, slowed down, sped up, gave him the finger, slowed down. NOTHING but ride my azz. No traffic so I just stopped dead in the right lane. The dumb azz stopped behind me until I opened my door, then took off around me. I have no idea what his problem was.
I have a good friend that will run up behind a slower car on the Interstate and slow to their speed and stay behind them till I get on his ass to pass em.!!!!! He ain't tailgating but it drives me nuts.
