This afternoon Ive been packing the truck for my next Fort Knox trip. Since its gonna rain tomorrow I figured Id need some extra towels in the truck, and I knew I had some in my truck tool box. Anyway, I pulled out a clean, folded hand towel and smelled it just to make sure it was clean. It was clean... and it smelled just like my mamas house used to smell. Mom passed away back in March, and I reckon I put this towel in my truck soon after she passed away. So now Im just sitting here on my truck tool box, thinking about my mom as I type this thread.

Fellas, this 46 year old man sure misses his mama. But shes definitely in a better place now, and I wouldnt wish her back here for anything. Too much arthritis pain, and that damned cancer. I can only imagine the sights, sounds, and wonders she has experienced in the time shes been in Heaven. Im looking forward to that day myself sometime in the future. I thank God that Jesus died on that cross for me, my mama, and all of us.

Yall wish me luck this weekend on Knox. Hope all of yall that can go tomorrow slay a giant. thumbup

Jesus... I hope you know Him personally like I do.

Good luck sir. That cancer is evil. Be thankful for the good memories. Typically it is songs that remind me of people in my life that have passed.

I actually just hung up the phone from talking with my mom before I saw this post. I always say a true southern man is always going to be a mamma's boy and that's meant as a compliment. I always tell my boys that no matter what happens in life to make sure they take care of their mamma.

Know what you mean Rep. I lost mine 10yrs ago to cancer and dad 12 yrs. This 54 yr old feels it every holiday season because that was their favorite time of the year with the kids and grandkids. 1 month after she turned 60 and a month before he turned 62. Smoking and Cancer are the devil.

I feel for you, man. Glad you had the years with her that you did.

On the same thought process, my mother is 90, lives across the street from us, real good health, got her out of Selma after 50 yrs.', 3 yrs.' after father passed.

So goes to a church in the area that is pastored by a pastor from her church in Selma. so I take her the 1st time she's in Prattville. Well mom how you like the church? her answer it's nice but there sure are a lot of old folks!

My mama will be 70 next year. I had lunch with her and my aunt today and it was terrific.
Im guilty of getting busy and not seeing my mama as much as I should, even though she lives just across the road.
She said Remember when we used to have lunch together every Friday?
I said That is starting again.
That happening and your post are as clear a sign as Ive ever had: See my mama more.
Thank you, Claims.
My wife lost her mother in May. Shes told me several times: the holidays are going to be tough.
God bless you and all who are still reeling from grief this season. Knock one out In Kentucky, brother.

Good luck on your trip. I know exactly how you feel....my Mom went to heaven this past Easter morning. She was 90 and I was very fortunate to have her that long. I am looking forward to the day I see her and my Dad again.
