Actually I didn't get very good penetration and there was no blood trail at all. I heard her crash 75-100yds in woods and managed to walk up on her.

The deer I shot the day before had a complete pass through and I did not make a very good shot hitting her in some of the gut. I didn't find blood on her at first but after she layed down and got up there was a good blood trail and she only went 40 yards. I fully believe If I had shot her with my normal muzzy I would not have found her but that Rage made such a big cut in the guts I believe that made the difference.

My son shot a really nice doe about a week ago on our farm. He shot with a Rage as well. Arrow was a complete pass through. She went maybe 35 yds. Great broadheads.

I love these comments. Actually if you'd shot her with a muzzy it would have went clean through and there would have been a great blood trail.
I wish I still had the pictures of the one I shot clean though, neck to ass, with a muzzy at 40 yards.

Negative, I have shot completely through the guts of a deer with muzzy broad heads and never found blood or the deer. That may be the exception instead of the norm as I don't make it a habit of gut shooting deer. However after seeing the size hole that Rage made in the belly compared to the size holes I've seen made by my muzzys I have good reason for believing that Rage made a difference. Do I prefer Rage over muzzy, well that depends on if I make a good shot or not.

and that's really all there is to it. Greater cutting surface allows for a greater margin of error. We all flub up every now and then and its nice to have some cushion when it happens.

Only accurate rifles are interesting.

Last muzzy I shot and the last one I ever will shoot went through both lungs and stuck in the ground on the other side. After I searched a briar thicket for an hour with 0 blood I threw the others away. I never found one drop of blood and yes I knew exactly where she went in. Didn't have blood where she was laying. Every deer I have shot with rage or grim reaper has left great blood even with a bad shot. I have shot through several shoulder blades as well.

Muzzy are definately the best on the market!

Wrong. Muzzy is not the best on the market.

I've shot clear through a deer neck to ass with a rage. What's your point?

I have shot spitfires the last 3 years and have had great success with a blood trai on 6 or 6 does. Now I understand a big bodied deer is different but I have been impressed

I have shot through several Midwestern deer with mechanicals. Most people that hate em haven't shot em since 1947

Which Rage broadheaddid you use? I'm guessing the two blade, but what tip? Hypodermic? Chisel? Could you be more vague...

I keep thinking about getting some of those broadheads. Hunters have such good results with them. I guess I'll keep shooting Muzzyes until then.
