I'm sure I will catch flack for this, but I am really considering just giving my truck back to the bank and putting that money back into food on the table.. My concern is how bad is this fixing to screw me.. I have heard 7 years on my credit record.. I know its my fault for taking on an additional note but some unforseen circumstances came and now I need to let that payment go.

Not being a smart ass but why don't you just list it on craigslist for free and sell it? Then you don't wreck your credit and spend the next 10 years wishing you didn't do that.

That's what I would have to sell it for I guess unless some type of refinancing is available but that's something I don't know anything about

I would detail the shucks out of it, get it looking showroom-new inside and out, take some really good pictures (good lighting/angles/etc), put together a well thought out "ad" for it and post it on craigslist for $29k OBO*......depending on how quickly you do or don't need to get rid of it, you never know what might happen. There are a few on there right now that aren't too far off that price, so who knows.
*here's my thinking on that particular price....anyone who'd be interested at $28k will still be interested at $29k, but it gives a little "wiggle room" to negotiate.

That is a good idea but I missed a payment back in October and my 570.00 payment doubled.. I paid 570.00 last month and they called and offered to defer my payment to the back end of the loan.. I get a letter yesterday stating that I owe them roughly 1300, plus the additional 570 by the 26th of this month.. Not gonna happen. I don't mean to air out my person so business on here but that isn't feasible.. I don't have a bank roll saved up for these situations

If you can't sell it at the price you need to pay it off, before you let it go back, talk to your bank about you selling it for $22k or $25k. Whatever you can get, then sign a note for the difference. It'll suck paying $3k-$6k and having nothing in return for it but if you let it go back, the bank will sell it for whatever and then sue you for the balance and your credit will still be ruined. Either way you're going to have to pay something. They don't just magically disappear. The bank is going to say "no" but tell them you can't make the payments and they can either work with you on selling it or not get anything out of you for 6 months. Good luck and keep your head up. It happens. Just learn from it so it doesn't happen again.
