Just got the email from DCNR. The east zone of Old Cahawba Prairie in Dallas county (1500) acres is open a few days of the week, bow only. Should be incredible hunting for 2 weeks until it's over-pressured.

I'm not familiar with that land but it looks like nothing but pines. I'm guessing it was once prairie type land?

It's in one of the most productive areas of the state, in my opinion. I haven't looked at aerials though.

It has been hunted hard the last few years from what I've heard. It is all mature pine plantation now but there's some huntable roads in it. Myself and 4 other guys plan to walk it out the next few days.

It was a fine farm before the damn pines got planted. The Ward place was anyways.

Should be a great area. Hunted the other side hard about 4 years ago.
