No doubt, and if he doesn't see putting them in the I and getting a good head of steam before getting the ball is what is needed, McElwain is a dumbass.

They usually run zone plays and the back doens't know where he is gonna go until the ball is snapped and the D-Linemen react. I like to watch the old iso plays out of the I where a guy just slams behind a fullback and I really wish we did it sometimes, especially late in a game.
Honestly though I think the pistol that we run alot is the most effective offense that can be run if you wanna play power and still be versatile. If keeps a defense alot more honest than the old "I" formation.
I have hated the inside handoff out of the shotgun all season, but it worked well against auburn saturday. Just gotta take what they give you I guess.

What has changed?

Well, hopefully Barrett Jones will be healthy for the entire game. He limped around on one leg for most of the 2nd half of the first game. Most would have to agree that he is a big part of our running game, and he was hobbling while Trent was really starting to find his stride against the LSU d in the 2nd half. A healthy Barrett, IMO, very well could have been a difference maker late.

Backup rb Eddie Lacy will have had a chance to fully recover from his turf toe injury, which has slowed him since midseason.

We had some other guys dinged up in that game as well. LSU has had amazing (non)injury luck this season, which most national championship caliber teams generally do. Kudos to them for that, as it's probably a testament to their conditioning.

Also, we know we don't have to prepare for two quarterbacks, and we will practice on defending the option...something it didn't appear we were expecting to see in the last game.

Will any of the above make a difference this time around? Well, that remains to be seen. But, it does answer the question of "what has changed?".

Nothing has changed including the excuses.

Lsu has played a much more difficult schedule and beat Alabama at home. Alabama will have to play better than any game so far to have a chance.

Other than the part about the excuses, I have to bill hit the nail on the head. LSU is dominating people and seems to get better every week. That being said, anyone other than Bama gets blown out by LSU in the BCSNCG.

LSU is a great team no doubt. And they may win it again. But, I do believe the best two teams should play for it.

I just hope someone knocks Matheau on his arse this time!

Thug should have been ejected from the game at Bama.

We may disagree about gold being a good investment but we agree here. If they were getting better QB play, then they may be considered one of the greatest teams of all time.
