Say Auburn takes down Alabama and then destroys UGA again in the SEC title game? Do they get left out of the 4 team playoff because they have 2 losses even though they would have defeated 2 teams ranked #1? Personally I think they will if everyone else stays undefeated.

Auburn needs a few teams to lose in order to have a chance at the playoffs (IF, they can win out themselves). I don't see a 2 loss SEC team leap frogging an undefeated team of a mid tier conference.

I honestly believe Auburn has a better chance at beating Bama, then beating GA again. It is extremely difficult for a team to beat another good team twice in the same year.

Even if AU wins out, I don't see them getting a shot at a playoff spot.

They probably will, their resume will be better than anybody despite having two loses. They will have beaten two #1 teams and won the SEC. It would be hard not to put them in. Now, accomplishing that is another story.

Auburn will be in the CFP if they Win out. It will take a Miracle but some years they have that Lucky Horseshoe.

I don't think auburn gets into the playoff, too many teams with better records out there:

I would be hard pressed to believe AU doesn't get in if they win out.

Unless some other two loss conference champion teams have a better resume they could. But AU loss to Clemson that loss to Syracuse that loss to Wake Forest really bad. Plus they blew a lead to LSU that loss to Troy that loss to USA. But beating two number one ranked teams plus the SEC championship may do it. It will be interesting to see what happens.

The ESPN folks agree. I spent the last two nights in the hospital so all I had to do was watch what the talking heads said. It seemed as if most agreed that with just it's two losses AU gets in because they are supposed to be finding the best four teams to put in. I agree though, that an undefeated Whisky is hard to keep out, although I agree that there are more than four teams that could beat them.

I say the Iron Bowl is for a spot in the playoff. I think Alabama can beat UGA and after yesterdays butt reaming AU will beat UGA anywhere, anytime.

I may not be the brightest, but UGA would have 2 losses and Bama would have 1 if Auburn wins out in the described scenario.

No way they get left out if that happens.

Clemson vs. Miami yet to be played. It will all sort itself out, but UCF has no shot.

I think Wisconsin losses to Michigan this weekend.
Clemson losses to Miami so they would win out.
Oklahoma finishes with one loss and UCF stays undefeated.
Alabama wins out.

Then with what you are saying, with this newest system, like the old, with conference championship is irrelevant. So if UA beats AU they would do just as well to forfeit the SEC championship and get people healthy for the playoffs. Guess no one knows until it plays itself out.

Auburn is in the playoff if they win the SEC.No doubt.period....I personally think the winner of the Iron Bowl will win the Natty.

And so begs the question, does Alabama get in with a loss to AU if AU goes on to win the SEC.

I say yes.

An undefeated UCF shouls get a New years Day bowl game, but that is it. No way they get voted as one of the top four teams in the country.
