And thanks to the bubble gut we were 20 minutes late. Bumped a doe the 8 we are after and another deer 250 yds from the field. Get to the field and there's two big does 20yds from the shooting house staring at us and several more behind them. Not the start I was hoping for.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

LOL years ago, I took my daughter hunting & she asked me, "what sound does a deer make?" & I said, "The sound of a gnat pissing on cotton!" & right at that time, a 6pt ran right in front of her & she stared right over the TOP OF THE SCOPE!!! LOL we still get a good laugh about that ...

When my oldest was just starting to hunt on youth hunts, he was probably 5 or 6. He was sitting in my lap in a tripod on a cutover just like that one trying to kill his first doe. We hadnt seen anything and he asked where all the deer were. I told him they were probably just asleep and we needed to wait them out. He said "What? Why dont we just shoot this gun to wake them all up". Good memories. All y'all with young ones enjoy making the memories.

Seen 3 this morning , my lil girl got wide open shot just where I wanted the deer to be and missed it . Had to tell her how many times I’ve missed deer too and that everyone that hunts misses sometimes speech . It was a great experience hope it keeps her motivated to go back.

That will also end up being a great learning experience for him. Patience is a virtue that is not easily transferred to young hunters. Nothing teaches you like the proof being a dead buck on the ground. Tell him congrats and get us some pics posted.
Almost exactly 5 hours to the minute from when you first posted he had a buck laying down you were going to wait out.

Well he had a broke G2 on one side and his other side is kinda funky with a kicker down low. So he’s a 6pt and he’s definitely 3 if not older.  Wow what a hunt congrats. That boy got a fat dip in? That's a dip smile if I've ever seen one lol. Is that a big ole tear in his ear?

I nearly went through a can though. That was nerve wrecking. And yes, his ear had been split recently. Preciate the congrats fellas. I asked him what lesson did he learn today and he said “Shoot a smaller deer next time.” This was after we drug that joker 170 yards up a hill out of that cutover. Emmett had his 4 wheeler, but I couldn’t get him on his cell. Didn’t want to drive in and ruin his hunt this evening.

So what did he finally do. Just stand up ? Did he start walking or what? He stood up and came out the right side of the briar thicket here. We didn’t see him til he actually stepped out of the briars.

Good deal there, I would have shot him in a heart beat. He was entirely out of sight for the entire day? Yep. We probably had eyes on him for 3 or 4 minutes in that 6 hours.
