I have never seen a mink in alabama. Thought they lived more north.

I've seen a few. Never tried to trap one

I heard that the way to catch them was to use a live mouse as bait.
There may be better info on live mice as mink bait on trapperman.com
I read online about putting the mouse in a large baby food jar. I guess that would work, if you put holes in the lid for air. The squeaking and scratching would drive a mink wild. The jar could be dropped in a dirt hole, pocket set, box, or cage type trap.
