Maggie if you weren't married I'm pretty sure I'd propose.

Thanks for the recipe.

Yep. Same here if I didn't already have Mrs. Irish. I'm actually surprised Maggie hasn't already got proposals on here. Her man's got to look like an NFL lineman if he eats half her food.

HA! Thanks for the kind words. Been married for almost 40 years and have learned a lot about cooking along the way. When we married, I could not even make cole slaw!! LOL!!

After my first wife died, and she knew how to cook, I married my second wife. She was 18 and her idea of a vegetable was canned corn. That was pretty much it. I basically taught her how to cook over about an 18 year period. Mrs. Irish is #3 and we've been married for 10 years and she came pre-trained grin We both thought it would be a disaster in the kitchen, because I had been a single dad for several years and had been doing ALL the cooking for me and my 3 kids. But it turned out well. Cooking is one of our favorite things to do together.

I think this thread needed resuscitated. Wish it was a sticky. I've got to try to make some of these good looking biscuits, it's been a while since I've made any.

Nice resurrected post

My mom is in nursing home now - her biscuits use to look just like that - best i ever had.

Whenever folks came over to eat - if mom made biscuits - the husband visiting for dinner would make the wife get the recipe

All of my family cooks biscuits, but my wife’s grandmother kept her flour in a large, wide plastic container with a lid. She would just pour the milk directly in the middle of the flour and pull flour toward the middle and make a dough ball. Then she would transfer it to the counter and make the biscuits. Never seen anybody else do it like that. I can make biscuits but I usually just make it like cornbread and cut it after I cook it.

Globe, that's how my wife's grandmother did it, kept the bowl in the fridge and just added whatever it was she added, but they were good.

was just about to say the same but y’all beat me to it. My mom makes awesome biscuits but lives too far away. Y’all got me thinking of making some this wknd. And like someone else said that golden eagle is the best on biscuits.

I tried to move this to the recipe thread but it looks like my moderatin skills are a little rusty. I'll study on it some more and get it worked out.

A grown man should know how to make a pan of biscuits from scratch
As many of us grew up on these things somebody would be ashamed to know we couldn’t do it

I made a couple of pans of biscuits last night. I love to make them and my family loves them as much as I do.
