The Sunday rankings should be LSU and Bama atop the polls again.
Legit question: Could Auburn's poor BCS ranking and schedule, along with poor play against teams like Samford and Georgia, be enough to drag down Bama's "opposition strength of schedule" and hurt them in the final rankings?
I don't think so. But with Oklahoma-OSU still to play and up there, and Oregon lurking along with Stanford and undefeated Houston, it's a hair-thin possibility.
I hope not. I'd like to see Bama get a rematch with LSU. They probably will, maybe even if LSU loses to Georgia. Let 'em play and keep it in the SEC.
We need a playoff. Too bad it's never worked for I-AA, D-II and D-III. /rolleyes/

I think there is a chance that VT takes the #2 spot IF they beat clemson for the conf championship.

Here are the standings as of 11-26-11: http://espn.go.com/college-football/bcsNo. 1 LSU pounded a No. 3 Arky. No. 2 Bama is thrashing a (questionable) No. 24 Auburn and should add a few scores if possible to help their chances. No. 4 Oklahoma State will play No. 9 Oklahoma ... both probably have about the same strength of schedule numbers No. 5 Virginia Tech is in the ACC CG against No. 17 Clemson ... both would, I'd say, play pretty good opponents outside the ACC, but dunno if it's enough to vault them over OkSU, Arky or Bama. Nos. 6-8 are Stanford, Boise and Houston lurking, but IMO not great threats. Houston will squall like little girls if they beat USM in their conference c'ship game, are undefeated and don't get a shot. I don't think their "But we're undefeated" argument would hold up, and they surely can't think they'd want to face LSU in the Dome.

I think you're right, and unless the beat OU by about 49 points in a shutout they probably won't get a shot.

Why would Auburn drag down Bama's "opposition strength of schedule"?? They should worry about Kent State, North Texas, and Georgia Southern? Hell throw in Florida, Vandi and Tennersee on the mix! No worries, I'm sure even if Alabama doesn't go to NC, Bammer Nation will claim this year as a National Championship in the next ten years...

Only 365 short days (or so) until your team gets another shot at the Tide.

I don't think much will matter if OSU beats OU next w/e and LSU beats UGA. Those two will play for the NCG. Not saying that's right....just sayin.

That should hurt the opposition strength of schedule wouldn't ya think???

No worries, I'm sure even if Alabama doesn't go to NC, Bammer Nation will claim this year as a National Championship in the next ten years... On the money! Maybe LSU should be declared the SEC champions and Alabama and Georgia play for the consolation prize of almost being good enough to win their divisions and conference without a loss? It was interesting to hear the talking heads downplaying Alabama's loss, they seem to forget that they were playing at home, and they choked on the kicking game. How many games has Alabama won by a field goal, so they tend to be important plays in both winning and losing. Oh I forgot we are talking about Alabama and we are supposed to forget what happens on the field and leave it up to the talking heads for National Championships, that has been the way of the past. What was that they Verne and side kick Gary kept talking about on the signs in the locker room and around the football complex? Oh yeah, "Never Again", man talk about being butthurt!

Alabama is clearly the most deserving to play lsu. Also, I don't want to listen to how Alabama got robbed. Lsu is playing head and shoulders above everyone else right now and I think they win much easier than last time.

Bama will get another shot at LSU. Ok State lost to an unranked team while Bama's only loss was to the #1 team in overtime. Bama should have won last time and they will win this time. Most Alabama people thought that Bama had the better team after the LSU game. Saban will make sure they don't squander their opportunities in January. Fixed it for ya!

Nah, I had it right the first time. Some folks just can't handle it. Don't worry, your team is in rebuild mode and will certainly win 8 games next year.
