Question on an HHA sight. If your hunting and a deer comes in do you have time to range find him and be able to move the sight pin that number of yardage before its too late. I wandered how anyone else done this and if its an easier way. Seems difficult if a deer was on a steady move

That’s why you range other objects around your stand beforehand. That way you can pick a spot out ahead of him and dial to it. I’ve been hunting with an adjustable single pin for over 12 years and it’s never cost me a shot. You also practice various yardages with it set on say 20 or 25 yards. It’s not that hard to kill a deer at 40 yards with it set on 25 yards.

Yesterday was the first deer I've killed that I ranged the deer. I typically leave it on 25 and anything within 35-40 gets shot without moving it.

X2 I leave mine set on 30yds and only move it when it's a 40+ yard shot. Never had an issue either

Leave mine set at 30. 20 yards and in I aim 4 inches low. Adjust to anything more than 40.

What Shaw and cgardner said. I switched to an HHA optimizer ultra 5519 this year and I feel it is the best money I have ever spent on hunting equipment personally. My groups got significantly better and I feel pretty confident out to 60 yds though I will probably never have, or take, a shot that long in most of the areas I hunt. Just practice, practice, and practice some more so you know those differences. If you do, you wont regret making the switch.

I love on the HHA where you can twist the housing to expose the fiber optic to brighten the pin. This sight combined with the cmorepeep had given me at least 15 more minutes of shooting light. I drew on a doe late yesterday evening and could easily see everything. Was just about to squeeze off and she turned and never gave me another clear shot.
