I’m spending the day with the wife, but not before I sneak in a quick morning hunt...back where I saw those does yesterday. Didn’t set my alarm because I wasn’t planning on hunting, but made it in my stand right at shooting light

I'm setup a small ridge loaded with white oak dropping.

Got here a little late but I'm settled in. First spot was hot a week ago, but seemed to have gone cold so I hiked back to the truck and eased in blind on a new area. Found a group of white oaks in a good terrain funnel. Half a dozen piles of fresh poop and some scrapes under me. Wind is marginal though.

Set up in an SMZ on a hot creek crossing. Dang, this Millennium sho is comfy.

I'm set up on top of some Post Oak trees on the side of a big food plot this morning...My wife is on her first ever lone bow hunt this morning and she's hunting about 300 yds from me. I just heard some deer blowing right by her, so maybe that's a good thing lol??? She's practiced a lot this Summer and I'm really hoping she can get a shot at one this year.

This will be the day Jono will whack a good buck. Always seems like if you have somewhere to be that’s when you’ll see deer and not want to get down.

A doe with twins and a spike so far. They've all been around 90 yards away.

2 bucks came by about 70 yards out. One looked to be a good looking 3 year old.

Y'all aren't making me feel too bad about sitting today out. Been out of town all week for work, all while battling a case of poison oak on my nose and eye. I'm taking today to partake of my second favorite hobby - smoking ribs and watching football! Good luck to those of you hitting the woods, I hope to be after them next week sometime.

CR the squirrel rut is definitely in full swing. Opening day I watched 2 doing the deed about 5 yards away, unaware of my presence for a minute. I moved slightly and they both stopped, looked over at me for a few seconds, and kept on going lol.

Went and checked a field about 20 minutes ago, to see if it would be worth hunting tonight. It had 2 does, a fawn, and an 8pt in the half I could see. Guess they moved late today.

Saw 3 young bucks, a doe and three fawns. Not sure where momma to the twins was but she never showed. Great morning

One deer came in. Not sure what it was. It was very thick where I was at, just not on the right trail. 3 for 3 this year on seeing one while in the stand.

Out in the TNF squirrel hunting. I've seen more deer than I have squirrels... 3 doe's and a spike

I'm buck hunting this afternoon. My dad and I are set up on opposite sides of our biggest plot. He's hunting sawtooths, I'm hunting a trail to the plot out of a cutover.

I've seen 8pt, spike 1 fawn, and 3 does so far. Finally broke down and shot one, she looks like a dang pin cushion because I dropped her with the first shot and had to shoot her two more times.

Late to post but I went early to a white oak stand in the middle of some thinned pines. Ran one out on the way in but felt good about this spot. Heard a big bunch of turkeys fly down 30 minutes after daylight. Then here came a doe with 2 fawns. She must have got a whiff as she kept looking around and then the turkeys started coming my way and I think they distracted the doe for me. Then I saw a buck headed my way. I recognized him as a 3-1/2 yr old fairly wide but no brow tines. I had to move slow due to 5 sets of turkey eyes and 4 deer looking around. He stopped broad side at 30 yards and I got on him. Double lung shot and he crashed at about 100 yards about 10 yards off a road. Good day! Pic in kill thread. Glad I let the younger buck walk yesterday morning.

Killed a buck today about 10:30. 4 on left 15" spike on right. #160.

Had a doe step out at about 20 yds before 5 and my daughter moved her head too quick before I could get a shot off. She blew outta there in a hurry. It was great gettin on one with my daughter even if we didn't get the kill today. Fun stuff.

Well my third day to hunt and zip on deer sightings..congrats on kills folks, lookin good so far. Did see a booner swamp rabbit walkin out tho..sucker spontaneously turned into dumplings when i saw it...then i blinked....an it was a rabbit again. Uhhhhhh i gottah start eatin for i leave tha house. Good luck errrbody.
