My 06 Ford is back in the shop for a third time within a 6 week period for transmission going out. The guy working on it has fixed it before(100,000) miles since last time. He is belly up in it right now.

these are "sealed" transmissions, not that simple. have to crawl under the truck and from what I understand, you're supposed to check with it running, and the "plug" is about 2" from a catalytic converter. also, to put more in it, you have to have a pump.

Geez, knowing that you had the warranty, you shouldn't have touched it!! Leave that to the proffesionals!!!

Don't go looking for TROUBLE, it'll find you soon enough!

yeah I know it....I'm kicking myself for it now. seemed like a good idea at the time, to get an idea just how much/fast it was leaking...oh well

I'll give it a shot, but per the fine print in the warranty, they won't replace unless it is determined it is necessary, which would require it to continue leaking. Also, seems to be mixed results as to whether or not it permanently fixes the issue.... So yeah, part of me hopes it doesn't come back, but the other part of me hopes it does so I can get it replaced.....arghhh

If it leaked once, there's a problem. How would that not be deemed a necessary fix?

because if you take it to the dealership and there's no evidence of a leak at the time, they're going to say there is no issue. But yeah, if it leaks any more, which I assume it will, it'll be going in.
Geez that sounds like Mullinex fords warranty, if they don't find a problem then they charge ya..

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!
