Congrats Hayman. Today was my second time to go and I connected on my best bow buck. His a decent 7pt. Im tickled to death. I was a little worried about the shot because it was a little far back and was sticking out when he took off. So have him some time and I got my father and cousin. To come back help me track. And we found 200yds from where I shot him. Pics to come.

Thanks Dr. B! But Ive only been able to go hunting Tuesday evening and then yesterday evening due to work.

Well Tuesday I left work around 2pm and got in the tree around 3. Watched a little 3 pt most of the evening till he left the field. I figured that was all I was going to see to since the sun was fading away. I hear something coming up the hill to my right and I see a little one coming in with momma in behind her. They feed across in front of me when I catch a glimpse of another doe standing to my left. I get the bow up and she was at 40yds and I shot and I dropped her but she got up and started dragging herself but finally got up an took off. I knew I hit her a little far back so I went and found my arrow and had good blood and a solid blood trail. I went to tracking after about 40mins of tracking I found her. I was right about hitting her a little far back but she was quartering away just enough to make a poor shot a good one.

Yesterday evening I was in a rush trying to get in stand didnt get to leave work till 3pm. I was debating to just not go since it would put me around 4 getting in the stand. I decided I would give it shot. I climbed up in the same stand no sooner than I set down. Had young doe coming out straight in front of me across the field. She feed around. She kept looking back so I figured It was another doe. Well I was wrong it was a decent 8pt he came out, then a smaller 8pt stepped and then while I was watching them. The 7pt I shot walked out and they was feeding towards me I was looking at them and the 7pt was the bigger deer of the 3 bucks. So I was set on shooting him. If I could get a shot. Well he feed within 25yds of me and I drawed back put on it and about the time I hit the release he turned and the arrow hit him in the ribs a little high. And he took and I could see my arrow still stuck him. I was down on my self after that because he made it out of the field. Ive had bad luck with bucks hunting with the bow. So I get down look at where I shot him no blood so I walked maybe 30yds from the shot and found blood. So I called my dad and told him what happened and where the shot was. He told me to back out and that he would come help me track. My cousin and Dad met me and we started tracking. Wasnt much blood to start but it starting picking up at times. We tracked and we got to the last blood on the ground. And started scanning around and found piled up in some trees that had fallen down. His not no giant 7pt but the biggest Ive killed with a bow. Sorry for the long post guys.

Thanks Dr. B!
My year has started off fantastic. I was able to go hunting Monday evening after work for just the 3rd time. Well I was lucky enough to shoot yet another buck! Decent buck I was kinda worried because He stopped bleeding yesterday evening so I thought and I had to go back this morning before work to finish tracking him. But I was able to find him this morning with hardly no trouble, I found where the blood trail was that I had thought I lost. His an upgrade from the one I killed the other day lol. Im down to one buck tag left gonna have to wait till a monster shows up since the season has just started lol.

The first time I climbed a tree with a bow in 2004 I killed a doe. Have had many bow seasons since then that were unsuccessful. Last night it all came together on a food plot. A lone doe came out around 6 yesterday evening and walked straight to my climber and stopped at 20 yards. It was a strong quartering to shot but at that distance I was comfortable. Arrow entered a bit behind the shoulder caught both lungs and exited out the guts. Not much blood in the plot but she piled up after 100 yards. Happy to get some points on the board for team 9 and happy to have another kill with the bow after so many years.

Its better to be a warrior in the garden than a gardener in war.

Some people feel the rain others just get wet.

I saw 7 opening morning, 2 of which were young bucks. Saw a spike Saturday afternoon. Nothing yesterday morning.

Got a doe today but forgot to get a pic of it with me in it. Just another reason for me to put another one down!

Congrats guys!
I was lucky enough to kill the biggest buck of my life this morning! He is 11pt I rough scored him at 133.5. Im pretty sure his a mature buck guessing his age 3-5 maybe. Im not very good at the age of a deer lol. But Ive only had pics of this deer 2 times all year and he had just showed up on cam on the 9th. And this morning was the first time I was able go hunting and I was lucky enough to take him!

Got a six point yesterday. He's got 4 on one side and a broken rack on the other. He ain't the biggest but he's meat and some points. If someone can post pic, I'll text you one. If you will, post one for the team on the main contest thread. Thanks!

It was 1015 and hadn't seen anything but a doe early. I had lowered my gun down from my climber and was about to change locations. As soon as my gun was on the ground, I looked up and saw him in walking in the brush in some thinned pines. As fast as my hands would move, I pulled my gun back up and jacked a bullet in. All this time he's getting closer to a thick area where I'll lose sight of him. At the last second, I found him in the scope and got off a shot. Never even undid my rope from my gun and had a pile of rope curled up in my lap!

He mule kicked at the shot and I fully expected him to drop or run maybe 50 yards. 150 yards later, I found him in the creek. There was a great blood trail and I couldn't believe he went that far. Turned out to be a low heart shot. Worst part was after getting him out of the creek, I had to drag him about 100 yards just to where I could load him up on the Ranger. That sucked. I was a whooped pup after that. He weighed 165lbs.
