Wife went to sign up today and after everything was done and picked they wanted to charge us 199.00 $ for a credit check.
I never heard of such, anyone?

Yea phuck em. I don't understand that, hell if they want your reoccuring business, they should be happy to do a free "credit check".
Far as I know, I never had them try that with me.

That what I was thinking. She did go to Costco because they had some kinda deal where you get a gift card.

I switched to DirecTV this year. If you do automatic payments with a credit card they waive the $199. I signed up with a card then once I got my account I went back and voided the card in the "My account" page online. Now I use my bill pay thru my bank.
There are two rules for success: 1. Never tell everything you know.
