Alternate for Stimpson hunt in February. Buddy of mine drew Cedar Creek gun hunt in December.

I got 7 alternates. This is the first time I have signed up for an SOA hunt. I've got to pick just one and the rest will be declined. It looks like they will be half day hunts except for the 2 squirrel hunts(youth). Should I wait till December 7 (Thursday) hunt(first choice)when there will be colder weather, more movement? I'm not really into hunting when it is going to be in the 80's or higher. My second choice would be Cedar Creek (Dallas County) primitive weapons on 11/13.
Alternate pick for these hunts: The two youth hunts are squirrel hunts on 10/7 & 10/21 There is a archery deer hunt on 10/26 & 11/2 Uchee Creek (Russell County). Two primitive weapons deer hunts on 11/13 Ceder or Uchee creek in Dallas or Russell counties. The last one is a gun deer hunt on 12/7 @ Cedar Creek Dallas County.
What would be your choice and why?

Lucky bastard!
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

Not really lucky. I've got to choose one of them and hope to God someone drops out and I move up. I wonder how many "alternates" there are for a given hunt?

Hell at least you were chosen as an alternate, 7 at that! I would assume 1 to keep things simple to answer your question. 2 tops but likely one

Since these are SOA hunts, where could I find maps for each to see what the terrain would be like?

Those color pics sure do look like they are over a well used salt lick. Hope all that's in there is salt. Otherwise its stay back a hunerd.

Section 1,3 & 4 on the Cedar Creek SOA should be jam up! I have a buddy I hunt with a couple times a year just eat of there a couple miles and his property is set up similar with Ag fields across cedar creek to the north. Those deer will pile out of the ag fields at daylight and cross the river to bed on the south side. Not uncommon for us to see 20+ per sit on those crossings. If anyone on here draws those units let me know and I'll show you what to look for in terms of the highest probability. This deer crossed that creek earlier that morning before I shot him

What would be your choice and why? I had several alternates to choose from including the 11/13 primative weapons hunt. Curious as to how many alternates were selected for each hunt
