Sons at work... Saw the bull from yesterday and decided to keep rolling to find s bigger bull. 20 minutes later found a stud 6x6 working into the timber. Finally made it around, its straight down. Hunting with the kid that graduated with my son

Wind direction all wrong. We waited until 4:30 to see if wind shifted, not Not. Went to the area the 5x5s been hanging out in for fun. After a few cows calls and chuckles, we could see the top of a spruce tree rocking. He's easy to get going. After he worked the tree over a few minutes. I raked a tree and got him to chuckle. After that, we left and headed home.
Going to the 6x6 area in the morning. Hoping for a good wind. Almost impossible to make a play on with the low clear cut but, we gonna try. We'll flip a coin to decide shooter/caller, then roll. Hopefully we see him. If no joy, in gonna go try to stick the small 5. My last day to hunt and prolly not hunting tomorrow nite, 2 10-12hr work days sat/sun.

1st group of cows that came out last nite near my son. He was 60 yds from their trail, I was 195ish. Too bad no bull was with them.

This morning was pretty much my hard charge. We biked into the area the BIG 6x6 lives and stopped at a landing you can glass across on before daylight.
As soon as it was light enough to glass, I heard a limb break down and to the right. I peeked around the slash pile and glassed the blonde body of a bull and a couple cows. Figured that was them.
The roads gravel and we had to get down wind of them so we lost the boots and made our way around. I caught view of the again and was able to see better. It was the 5x5 I've already called in twice working his way up to cross the road and go back to his normal hangout in the reprod.
We jumped back on the road and hauled butt up the hill for a good vantage point and saw 2 cows headed into the timber. That's the only 2 we saw on that hill. Did some calling with no luck.
I had the bird in the hand with the 5x5 but, decided to try to kill a BIG bull. Im good with my decision and had fun this year once the timber lands opened. I may go to chicory field tonight but, I'm pretty sure the trespassers are pounding the back side of that and wouldn't expect much.

Field test
Swaro 10x42 vs Vortex 1050
Both clear in the day light. Swaro glassing 300+ yards before daylight, vortex couldn't hang.

Shoot one of them. They're in a handy spot to get out.
