I think it would be after the season before anything is done to Gus, if then. I think Jacobs time is getting shorter tho. What if Gus mysteriously disappeared? Joke, joke. No plans yet.

The sunshine pumpers are hard at it today. Auburn is a top job, Cowart didn't like football, and Sean White was a problem child. The delusion is strong today. Something about rats and a sinking ship come to mind.
We listened to y'all for years telling us how the only reason Chizik won a natty was because of Gus Barfield. Now y'all are saying his offense sucks?
Quick question... so far in this thread I've read where auburn is a top 10 job or higher and that the pockets are deep and auburn wouldn't mind paying for a top coach. So explain why auburn has been able to land top coaches like Terry Bowden, Tuberville, Gene Chizik, and Gus Barfield? Did any of those have winning records in division 1 football when auburn hired them? Other than the offensive genius are any of those top coaches still coaching?

Perk and Fran were in unenviable positions given who they followed.
Also, I miss Gene Stallings. He was a good man, a good organizer-motivator, solid coach, great cusser when necessary, and fun to talk with. He wasn't an asshole like a lot of coaches can be.

Gus, at Tulsa and Arky State. I think. Maybe. Middling records at best. Bowden, at Akron. So, not really. Auburn does this with basketball, too. Tommy Joe Eagles, Cliff Ellis, Lebo, that asshole who worked with Calipari, and now Pearl. I like Pearl. I think he's enthusiastic and is trying to do well. But if the "Auburn men's basketball is being investigated for ..." story comes out then I won't be shocked one iota.

Not sure why this is even a topic. Gus is awesome. Y'all have a 30+ point win, a 14 point win, and lost on the road to the champs by 8 points. What were y'all expecting? I can't stand Dye but he has got to be ahead of Tubberville. No Auburn fan wants to admit it but Alabama and LSU (sans Saban years) being down made it possible for Tommy to do as well as he did. He was a good coach and an average recruiter. That didn't work out too well when Alabama and LSU got back to full strength.
