Well i just bought a house and 11 acres that hasnt had anybody livin or tending tha prooerty for about 15 years. I have got 6 yeller jacket nests.. Seems like evertime i crank a saw or the tractor me or somebodys gettin attacked. I put diesel fuel in one of their holes the other night an they are still there!! And i tried to do another one an i dont know who says they want come out at night but they will. Im ready to just start settin them on fire.

Feel your pain. I found three nest in about 10 days a couple of weeks back.

Locate the entrance hole and mark it with a rag or something. After dark take about 2 gallons of gas in a 5 gallon bucket and pour it right in the hole. Your grass will turn brown for a couple of months, but it will get green later. Don't try to burn the gassed yeller jackets.

Use dawn dish soap and water. A lot of it. Remember where the hole is or mark it and come back at night and load em up with about two quarts - use a quarter cup of soap for the mix. They will come out at night - they're just calmer in the nest.

Kills the bugs but not the environments.

I pour in a thin mix of concrete but I like Geno's mix as well.

Speaking from a bad experience.... lighting gas filled holes with multiple entrances/exits it not a good idea. Especially is you put gas in multiple holes and let'r rip

Put a glass jar over hole after you pour gas in it so they can't get out.

Whatever method you choose, please videotape it for us?

I know it ain't the best method or most popular but I always used mix gas (weed water or chainsaw) pour it down the hole. About a gallon give or take. I always threw a fuse on them an BAM light show with fire at night and now more bees. But it does tend to kill the grass for a bit.

20 oz water bottle of gas. Just walk up to the hole at night and stick the bottle in the hole, let it drain and leave it till morning.

I have destroyed the little evil critters.. Poured bout 2 gallons of gas per hole.. An no activity so far. Ima try an finish bushhoggin toomorrow. I know one hole had to have about a 1000 of them thangs cause i came back an checked them an they were everywhere dead all over the ground

Probably better wait to bushhog until next week, as you may ignite the remaining gas and blow through to China.

Get a Glass Bottle from your beer, drink beer fill with gas, Stick bottle and gas in hole. leave the bottle in hole for at least a day to trap gasses in hole.

More nest = more beer!

I got in a nest Friday while planting a green field. I was feeling lucky after running over them with a disk without a sting. I didn't make it with the drag after another guy spread the seed. One got me on the temple and I slapped my glasses off trying to get that devil off of me. Another one got me on the shoulder. I will get them with gasoline upon my next visit after dark. I HATE THEM YELLOW DEVILS!

Why do you have to use gas? Seems like hornet spray sprayed into the hole would kill them and about as cheap, or cheaper with no chance of explosion.

Bastards got me 3 times this morning. I despise them!

Went to hook the disk to my tractor the other day and wasps were in the frame. Got nailed on the arm before I knew they were there. Saw gas fixed that issue.

You don't. I found a hole in the yard full of them a week ago. Gave it a good squirt with the cheapest wasp/hornet killer available at Walmarks. End result was dead yellow jackets. No muss and no fuss.

It all depends on how the tunnel and nest are built. Soap water may work, but only if the abdomen is immersed in it. Hornet spray is contact only killer as well. Gasoline however can work two ways, contact and fumigation. And I say, for 100% guaranteed results, light it off just to make sure and add a third means of destruction. Assuming you know how to safely handle gasoline and matches, lol.

Cleaned out an old cemetery over in the woods we do annually with 8 other guys yesterday. We hit a nest with the weedeaters in the center and they lay claim to an area about the size of a Volkswagen. We were standing around trying to decide how to deal with them, couldn't see their hole since it was covered up with grass. The oldest member of our group in his mid 80s stepped up, started his weed eater and waded in and cleared the spot and never got stung! The rest of us shook our heads ! I was ready to get the Benedril out of my truck!

I pour about a cup of gas down the hole and just light a rag and throw it over there by the hole. Poof. Has never failed.

Won't kill the grass either maybe a little burn spot but nothing serious. Other methods may work but I've never had a reason to try them.

Well... They got me again, im drowndin them in gas and there are still hundreds of them. Got me in the face an i believe thats bout the most painful place to get stung. Getin real tard of this..

I'm tired of 90 degree weather, sweating,insects of all kind. I went to check a camera yesterday and while walking back to the 4 wheeler, I got hit 4 times by yellow jackets. Why the hell are they swarming? I have a nest somewhere by my fire pit at the creek, but I can't tell where. They're swarming everywhere.

I had one once you couldn't kill by pouring gas in the hole.

I bet we poured 5 gallons in that hole.

Finally found the 2nd hole about 2 feet away. Filled both and lit it up that time. That done it. Normally a cup in the hole does it.

I killed a nest a few weeks ago in the daylight prior to throwing seed. Killed the nest dead as they were already active.

I don't recommend that however.

Tried that daylight thing....once, an that wuz enough. Not sure what im gonna do about these things..dinnymites maybe
