The Caribbean totally understand how hurricanes work and they know that will get hit by them regularly so they build accordingly.

Coming off of Key West, now, moving almost due north, about a mile or two east of the forecast trackline.

Yeah, but they were hit by Cat5. What was it when it hit Cuba or the Keys? I wouldn't want to rebuild every two or three years.

A MILE OR TWO? GOSH, IF THOSE FORECASTERS ONLY COULD HAVE DONE BETTER! Right?...I've been thinking for a couple days, now, that the forecast was about as close to right as it could be, given the wobbling and not-quite-straight path a hurricane takes. Some big tweaks several days out, but like Skinny said, when it gets into a day or two or three out, it tightens up a whole lot.

The track on the crisis map has been adjusted to show a landfall at Cape Coral, now, about 90 miles south of Tampa.

I know it's still a long ways from here but it sure is windy as hell outside. Here as well.

Yup, very breezy here in Luverne, steady wind at 8mph with the occasional gust to 13-15mph but steadily increasing.

Yep...slid west a little over the last 2 hours, maybe? ...still pretty much in line with the forecast on the crisis map, though.

I'm in Columbia doing storm prep at Farley Nuke. It's getting pretty windy and raining already

I'm in Columbia doing storm prep at Farley Nuke. It's getting pretty windy and raining already Its amazing how big this system is. Both of us are on the outer fringe edge of it east and west respectively three states away and can see outside right now how things are changing.
