It's on public land. You're lucky it wasn't stolen. Sounds like you should move your camera. Or at least hide it better.

Post the picture of him up to see if we know him.... I'd post it everywhere, along with an account of the circumstances surrounding how you came by it...since it wasn't him, I'd be sure to show him a pic and ask if he knew who it was...

Post the picture of him up to see if we know him.... Hell yeah! And a salt lick that's been on public land as long as you can remember is also known by everyone else I don't care how hard you think it is to get to. Move the camera. Why the heck would he leave it and change the lock? He was just gonna start using your camera has his own?

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

This will take some detective work and may not be possible or easy. print picture of him from trail cam. Address and stamp envelope to his disability case worker. Take picture of picture half in and out of envelope with address and case worker name legible. Take picture of envelope held just outside mail drop box opening. Send pictures to him with invitation to stay out of your woods from now on.

You know they make the trip wire style paint bombs that you can rig those up around the cam. Put extra cams in the trees to catch all the action and share with us Please

I like the idea of printing off a pic of him and mailing it to him with a not to the tune of "you are a lying sonofabitch. have a nice day." The disability case worker angle is pretty cool.

I'd post his photos everywhere with a title, trespasser, poacher, thief and vandal BEWARE in big letters over the photo. If nothing else embarrass the jerk. When his buddies start telling him about the photos he will be ill.

An "IED" in the box? LOL Like this one? This turned into a big legal mess. It wasn't on public land, but on private land the old man (in this vid) said he "always had access to cross" or use-hunt or whatever. The landowner disagreed, had asked-told him to not cross-use it, and then this happened. Legal stuff, courts and such. http://www.deeranddeerhunting.com/blogs/...sted-paint-bombPrint out the photos of him from your SD card and go talk with him. He can't deny the images. Then ask him for the money for a new lock.

1. It was public land, so he wasn't trespassing. 2. He lied about messing with your camera, SD card, etc. 3. See #2.
I'd definitely let him know you know it was him. From there, not sure what else you can do that'll result in anything good coming from the whole situation.

I want to know how he got the pics back off the sd card X2! Recovery software. It's basically free these days. Used to cost a thousand bucks or so. When images are deleted they still exist, they are allowed to be overwritten. Software Is so good it can go back several generations to recover images. Sandisk had a free recovery download at one time.

I hate to defend the shucks ass that messed with your camera, but hell it was PUBLIC land. In my time hunting WMA's and national forest I have come across many blinds, cameras, and tree stands. I have never messed with any, but I have every right to. Absolutely nothing you leave behind on public land is yours. Why would you expect otherwise? I don't think of it this way, but in a lot of ways, public land hunting is a big competition....many people fighting for the same deer. Don't get pissed or feel screwed over because other people are competing in the same game you choose to play. I park my truck in a public lot and you don't have any right to mess with it. It's on public land.

I want to know how he got the pics back off the sd card X2! Im pretty sure you just hook an USB cable up to your camera and hook it to your computer. The pictures are on the hard drive of your camera as well as the card. Just guessing, but I was told that before. Id like to hear from him ( the OP) and see how he did it.

It's not a 100% thing. I had a tech buddy of mine donit for me a while back. I didn't even know it was possible till he heard me bitching about accidentally deleting some pics. Depends on the software. How the drive is deleted/formatted etc... Some agencies have some serious recovery software that can garner info from the Memory etc... Think why Hillary smashed there HDs with hammers. I was a full-time pro photog, went digital when it became viable in the early 2000s. The first time I'd heard of recovery software a friend that owns a sports photog business had a corrupt micro drive. He paid $3000 for a german software to try and recover the drive. He got most of the images back. Recovery software has come a long way. Had another friend that had a 1T drive fail, he paid a few hundred to have that drive recovered. He got things that were deleted years ago. He then for the heck of it ran the free software and recovered the same things. It's easier than you think. I have few free recovery disk still laying around.

Nevermind guess I should have finished all the comments.

I have a friend that has access to the best software needed to recover data from any device. When he gave me the card back he had restored 5027 pics all the way back to the year 2012.

Pretty smart thinking. I hope I never piss you guys off.

I think the rule is what is on public land is public. It amazes me at the number of people that think this way. How would you feel if you came up to your truck parked in a public parking lot and a dude was going thru your tool box or bed of truck? When you asked what he was doing his response is "well its in a public parking lot"

retrieving data from an sd card that has been deleted: several ways, cnet has a good set of instructions. https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-recover-deleted-photos-from-a-memory-card/but there are many tools available for free for use. If you have the guy's email address, you can use a one time email address generator to send a copy of it to him.

Put a bear trap under the camera. Then he can justify his disability. He'll be legit crippled.
