Highest Ranking BCS but of the top two, if they are within 5 places of each other then it is head to head.
1. LSU is 4, UA is 3 and Ark 2 then UA goes
2. LSU is 2, UA is 4 and Ark 3 then Ark goes
3. UA is 2, LSU is 3 and Ark 4 then LSU goes

It's really not complicated. They just throw out the lowest ranked team automatically and then take the head to head winner out of the other two. If that's the case then his #2 scenario is wrong.

Y'all might as well give it up. Bama lost the opportunity to go to Atlanta on Nov 5th due to stupid mistakes and missed opportunities.
Arkansas is not going to beat LSU.
Bama's best chance is for some things to fall in place and they back door their way into the BCS Championship game like LSU did in 2007.
Highly unlikely that scenario unfolds. Even more unlikely that they wind up in Atlanta.

Agreed. Saw a great article on this today... Arkansas should have no problem beating Mississippi State, and 'Bama should knock off Auburn, but realistically what are the odds that Arkansas beats LSU bad enough that the Bayou Bengals drop behind both the Tide and the Hogs in the BCS standings? I suppose the timing of a loss at home on the final weekend of the season could seem particularly damning to many voters and could thereby result in a larger-than-normal fallout, but even so the odds pretty low of that happening. And, again, that assumes that Arkansas can beat LSU in the first place, which is far from a foregone conclusion given their inability to protect Tyler Wilson and their typical defensive struggles. The good news for Alabama is that, despite the histrionics, there is a great deal of football left to be played and several key contests remain. With three weeks of football still ahead of us, it should be understood by all that it would take very little to detonate a BCS powder-keg and that the possibility of that happening is a very real one. The problem, though, is that the Armageddon scenario could bring as many as seven or eight teams into BCS contention and there is no guarantee whatsoever that Alabama would be the ultimate benefactor, and given that the Tide will receive almost no sympathy from the voting community the odds are likely even slightly against 'Bama reaching New Orleans even if all else goes up in flames. Many people in the past few days have spoken at length about 2007, but what people often fail to mention is that the shocking turn of events in 2007 is anything but usual. In truth, 2007 was an anomaly of the most absurd variety, featuring something which had never been seen before and which may never be seen again. Anyone legitimately expecting a recurrence of that outcome is simply inviting disappointment, and again the far more likely scenario is that the loss to LSU is an irreversible error from which 'Bama can never recover. Some hopes remain, but those hopes are exceedingly thin. All Alabama can do now is win against Auburn, and return home with the hope that the rest of the world burns in the next three weeks.

If you're referring to OU/OSU, they don't play until December 3rd.

Agreed with most of what you said, spot on. But I just don't see the quoted part that way. Never understood how so many Bama fans can carry "the world is against us" attitude when those not tied to the program see it so differently. The reality is Bama is one of America's darling teams. The major sanctions are long forgotten in most folks minds. Alabama is a storied program. Arguably the most storied. I believe if a one loss team gets in because of voters it will be Alabama.

Arkansas is not going to beat LSU. Arkansas has beat LSU 3 out of the last 4 and the loss was in OT if I'm not mistaken, there is a good chance of LSU getting beat IMO,it's also a rivalry game so anything can happen.

It's really not complicated. They just throw out the lowest ranked team automatically and then take the head to head winner out of the other two. If that's the case then his #2 scenario is wrong. No, that scenario is correct. If there's a three way tie, the team ranked lowest in the BCS is out automatically, whoever that may be. Then the next tiebreaker is head to head between the two remaining teams. It's a simple formula it would just depend on the BCS rankings. I still don't understand all the gloom and doom about Alabama's chances of getting to play for the championship. If anything happens to LSU or Okie State, Alabama is the next team in and there's really no way around it as long as Alabama wins out. LSU-Alabama got the highest tv ratings for a college game since 1991. ABC/ESPN televises the national championship game. Alabama is the most deserving of the one loss teams, but even if they weren't, ESPN would push them for the ratings. People will stop talking about Oregon when they struggle with USC, and Oklahoma can never beat OK state bad enough to remove that huge black eye that Texas Tech gave them.

No doubt in my mind Alabama is the best team behind lsu. If lsu loses bama will play for it all and even if lsu wins out we still may see a rematch. I'd love to see those two go at it again with the same results. Of course I love defense and watching those mean ol defensive linenan.

"histrionics" Nice, I learned a new word.
I am not a fan of rematches, but if OK State loses to OU, I really don't see any other team more worthy than Alabama.
on a side note, if Alabama does make in in through the back door and wins it, the haters will have a field day with "claims of another National Championship" I think a few folks on here might have an aneurism.
