Cool deal on the Jack Miner band thumbup

You reminded of a band I have that this a pellet mark. 4 of us that day in N Courtland, mallards and black ducks come in together. I was shooting 2x4 Remington loads that year, I know I at least hit the leg on the black duck. It has a #4 shot mark on it, everyone else was shooting #2 shot.

Arkansas people frown on woody shooting because at first light the mallards are typically thick on the tree tops - they will drop on a call and water movement really well at that time. If everybody is blasting woodies the mallards will never get into the trees as the shots will continually pick them up - flair them. You go for the mallards- not woodies

So is it ok to pass on a group of woodies but shoot single green head?

I've seen a few good fights at the ramps in AR. thumbup

I don't give a damn what other ppl think, if you have killed a band, it is a trophy PERIOD! I have been hunting ducks since I was 14. Rode my bike with my gun and a sack of decoys to river to hunt. I am now 48. I have 4 bands from mallards (one was 12 years old) and a leg/neck band from a goose in Guntersville.

I guess the 12pt that scored 175 that was killed secumed to trickery also, right?
