Do you think it would kill a turkey out to 20 yds? Don't give a hoot about the legal part of it.

In the head, maybe. Any where else, no.

If you can shoot anywhere near as good as old Rufus, I have no doubt you could kill one at 20 yards if you popped him in the head. Except I wouldn't use rocks. Once again the density of tungsten makes it the ideal turkey projectile.
You could practice with lead buckshot and figure out what kind of velocity you can attain, then get someone with one of those computer programs to help you figure out the ideal size. A 6mm tungsten ball at 1100 fps would probably kill a turkey at 150 yds if you could hit him right in the noggin. It wouldn't take a lot of speed to be deadly at 20 yards.
Post your question on GN and I'm sure someone can figure out the ideal size shot. Any idea what kind of velocity you can get? I'd guess 200 fps oughta be possible; maybe more.

The ability to hit the broadside of a barn stopped with my daddy. Just wanna say that without a shadow of a doubt my grandaddy could have more than likely made the gentleman in the youtube video look silly. I watched paw paw pick up a hand full of christmas light bulbs an start tossin them in the air an he busted them all. He made all his shot from lead in car batteries an old wheel waits hed meltem down an make a good pocketful an i never knew the man to leave the house without his flip in his pocket. He truly was amazing with a flip i wish more people could have seen him. To him tho, it was all he had his whole life. My daddy was very good to probly as good as rufus cause i saw him regularly pitch coke cans in the air an shootem. Daddy told me when he was a teenager, him an his brother built a flip stock outah maple an they decided it was gonna be their deer killin flip. I think daddy said it had 8 surgical bands on it. They carried it to barbour co an daddy sit in a treestand with it, he said a spike come slippin by an he shot it in the ribs with a 50cal round ball an said it knocked it down for about 10 sec before ot got up am run off. So if you built the right flip id say without a doubt you could kill turkeys bout anywhere you hitem. Paw paw kilt bunches of crows with his.

I've killed several turkeys with a flip. Also squirrel, doves on the fly and a couple of deer. Please tell us more. What kinda shot and velocity? You shoot the deer in the head or the body?

You can real good at something if you are truly hungry (like ole Rufus growing up apparently).
Nobody knows what that's like today, and we generally don't have the time or drive to get real good at much of anything. Indeed. Years ago one of my 9th grade students became obsessed with the idea of killing a rabbit with a blowgun. This was one of those cheap blowguns you used to see advertised in magazines. I think he shot at 40 or more before finally killing one. He quit fooling with it as soon as he got one. There aren't many kids today who would take on such a project.
