That's about as cheap as you can get it right now without ordering it yourself I imagine and there isn't much more to save from what I've seen. Hopefully they will keep it up and keep driving prices. Reviews I've seen are all good on the loads they have. Hopefully they can keep up with demand for tss and ammo this spring and they will make a killing.

Be careful shooting 3" apex loads out of a 3" chambered gun. We got to test some of the first apex loads and I had a hunt ruined by one of their shells. The only conclusion we could make is that the shell was a little longer than the chamber, thus not engaging. This was in an 1187, so no "benelli click." Costed my buddy his first bird after working him till 11:30. Still makes me sick... Wow, that is really strange; sorry you lost the bird. I've heard of a lot of issues with roll crimped shells not feeding on a semi auto because they were too long. But I don't see how it could happen with a shell that was chambered. The 3" chamber is supposed to be 3" long so it can contain the entire hull after it's fired. An unfired 3" shell should be no more than about 2.75" long, even if roll crimped. Even shorter if fold crimped, and I suspect they are folding them to save time. If you still have the shell, I'd examine it and measure the diameter near the end of it. My guess is they put too much pressure on the crimp and made the end expand too much to fit the chamber. I once had a factory load get wet and the end expanded like that. Fortunately it didn't cost me the turkey.

Fortunately it didn't cost me the turkey. I say it ruined the hunt, but in all actuality that hunt was one of the best I've ever been on. I was sitting on bird #4, but my buddy Clayborn had never killed a turkey so it was his day to make it happen. We pulled up to the gate and started loading our guns and he pulls out a mixed handful of old turkey shells. Well I had a couple boxes that the military guy had given us and I talked them up like everyone else does. He puts one in the hole and puts his shells in the bottom. Long story short I've never heard so many birds gobble in my life and I had to kill that old double bearded bird at 7:30 because he came in sneaking from behind us. So I leave my gun behind(lesson learned) and we take off to get him one. We stuck and worked his bird out of some THICK hardwoods and he popped out at 7 yards strutting from left to right. Man I've never seen/been that close to a drumming bird... It looked like every feather on him was shimmering, he was vibrating/drumming so hard! Well he lines up with clay's barrel and then comes the CLICK, I started cutting and Clay shucked another one in and missed him in flight with his original shell. Man I was sick as a dog knowing that I talked him into using that shell. I'm not exactly sure what happened but there was a mark on the primer and I know the gun chambered completely. I talked about it with BC and Darrel and I think we came to the longer shell conclusion, but I could be wrong!( I'd had a few cold beers that night) I gave the shell back to them but never heard their explanation.

BC Reb that sucks on the unfired shell. In Apex defense any shell hand loaded or factory can have a miss fire. I like my O/U's 2 years ago on a Kentucky hunt I had one go click 20 yds from a strutting bird after crawling about a 100yds fanning him. I dropped the fan raised my gun and click nothing, all I could do is squeeze the trigger and hope the other barrel would go Boom and sure enough it did. Glad I carried the cynergy and also the Tom was so fired up he hung around just a split second to long. When I got home I cut open the shell and couldn't find a thing wrong all I could figure was maybe the primer just failed.

So..... how does a guy go about buying stock in federal. That's going to be huge. Looks like the price is pretty low right now bottomed out since Trump was elected. VISTA Outdoor Inc. VSTO is the company stock I believe.

They're just gonna get harder to kill when everyone starts using tss. Prob similar to the advancement in turkey calls sounding more and more realistic. But in actuality, it prob just means ppl will miss the at 70 yds now instead of 50

So..... how does a guy go about buying stock in federal. That's going to be huge. I believe the parent company is ATK and sales of any TSS will be a minuscule drop in their bucket.

I purchased some for my son to shoot in his 20 gauge. Need to go pattern it soon and see how it performs. It's pretty nasty now with federal heavy weight and may blends.

I, like most everyone on here, have been down the road of manufacturers changing components. Different wads in Xtended Range. Different lot numbers in Federal Heavyweight. Change in components with Nitro. List goes on. I'm 100% done with store bought turkey loads. I can load enough in a couple hours to last me a season. And know for certain what goes in them.

I for one have enough shot and components for a couple lifetimes in just about every gauge so I'm good with whoever wants to join in. I do enjoy seeing Apex posts on their pattern with gun and choke patterns gives people a good idea on what to expect.

Buying shells for turkeys now just doesn't feel right!
After loading my own last year and killing birds with them and even better getting to watch MsN40R kill birds with them that I called up with calls I built it just doesn't seem right to go back to factory stuff!

Ha, I like to think I have enough and then I'll get to thinking about it and decide I need more because I'm planning on hunting more every year. I probably have enough for my son and myself now, but won't stop buying I don't imagine.

I just received my order from these guys. I've been looking for a place to buy some shot not the actual preloaded shells. Wow, what an easy transaction. If any of you need a source for tss at a great price, give the guys at apex ammunition a call.

How much you paying a pound and for shipping if I may ask?
They have it prorated based on quantity but anywhere from $34-38 per pound, free shipping over 5 pounds.
