I'm having my right hip replaced tomorrow morning. It's something I've managed to put off since 2013. The time has finally come to do something about the pain it causes me daily. I have never had a major surgery in my life so I'm pretty worried about the whole thing. If y'all have time I'd greatly appreciate some prayers for comfort, a successful surgery and speedy recovery.

Thanks!

You're going to feel so much better you will have that other hip fixed next month. Best of luck with the recovery Mike. I hope you have a hot nurse and not a dude.

Prayers! I had a buddy who had his left his replaced last Thursday. He is obviously still using a walker to get around but it climbing the stairs at his house 5-7x a day holding on to the rail. He also put his of for about 3yrs and says that was the worst decision he has ever made as the surgery and everything to this point has been virtually pain free. Good luck!

Prayers for you and your doctors. The people I've known that had it done had great results and recovered quickly.

I've had both of mine done. First one I put off for 5 years. Couldn't believe the difference. When the other started acting up a few years later,I called the dr and had him schedule it as soon as he had an opening. That's been 5 years ago and I forget now that they been done. I was like you in the first one... very worried about it.

Prayers sent for a successful surgery. I had mine done on May the 30th. Still recovering but the surgery is a breeze. I took my pain pills for 3 or 4 days and quit. Didn't need them after that. Your hip is going to feel so much better you will wish you had it done a long time ago.

Be sure to watch for signs of blood clots. Most people don't have an issue with them but I did. Unfortunately I never showed any signs of them until I was being carried to the er in an ambulance. With my luck if anyone is goung to have a clotting issue it is goung to be me. Not trying to scare you but just letting you and your home health group know to watch out for them.

Good luck with the surgery and hope yours is as painless as mine was.

Prayers for you. That surgery has a high success rate. Everyone I know (3 people) that has had it has been incredibly pleased with the results. You'll be back hunting in no time and if your recovery is a little slow and you cant quite make bow season, I will volunteer to keep you leases patrolled and deer under control. rofl Best of luck to you and keep us updated.

Prayers sent. I had mine replaced a few years ago and it wasn't a big deal. Do your rehab and you'll be good to go. I was back on my tractor in about 5 weeks. Had a knee replaced about a year ago, that was another story, but was good to go in about 8 weeks. Hip was way earier to get over. Good luck!
