the first realist lures to hit the market. For some reason, I never caught a fish on mine. the lip was so thin I was scared it would break in every cast.

Nope, hard plastic. It looked amazing considering what we had in the past. For some reason, no one I knew could catch anything on them either. It's a Natural Ike. Made by Lazy Ike company. They sold like hotcakes. nobody bought them a second time tho. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that they were injected plastic and not hollow.

Interesting. I remember probably 15-20 years ago some soft rubber crankbaits that were flexible but firm. If that makes sense. They weren't hard like regular crankbaits; you could bend them a little. But because they were hard rubber they were more dense. They didn't sell well, either.

Burke came out with some like you are talking about, but they were deep divers. Little Big Dig.

Clem probably 40 yrs ago. Bill Lewis had some crankbait. they were like a deep wee-r, but injected. The thing about them was they had two colors you will probably never see again in a crankbait. Both set Texas lakes on fire. One was that brown color, like the creme worm. You hold it up to the sun and it's purple. The other was motor oil. Man fish would eat them up.
It seems the head guy at the plant left and took his formula with him. I lost mine in a tackle box theft. I've looked everywhere and never seen another anywhere.

Yeah, I fell for the natural Ike. Never remember catching a fish. Y'all remember the big Jim series crankbaits?

Yes, similar to Big O made by Cordell. Jim rogers lure company.
Never owned or fished one, never had any Cordell NBig"O"'s either. I would love to see one of the hand carved original BIG O's.

The little Jim was killer in a light brown back, bone sides and orange belly. I'd get them at HOWARD Brothers. Long time ago.
