It pays to get off the beaten path every now and then. Took a trip to Gulfport a couple weekends ago and got on Hwy 90 in Grand Bay and took it west to Gautier.
On the way, in Moss Point, ran across the Lakeside Catfish Restaurant. All you can eat AMERICAN raised fish for $13.95 with a side, biscuits, and cole slaw. Son had a steak. Both were excellent and great service as well. We have been back twice since, and it's dang sure not "convenient" to Bay Minette or Saraland, where we attend church (two of the three trips have been after church lunches).
My wife and I are bad about being creatures of habit and eating the same things at the same places over and over. We TRY to sample 8-10 new places every year. Sure glad we tried this one.

Is that in MS? I love out of the way places. Rooster's in Pine Hill, Gaines Ridge in Camden, Bates House of Turkey (maybe that's not THAT out of the way), Tabby D's in Andalusia. State Line, MS

If you get further north, check out Jordans fish camp. It seems like it's normally closed, but headed back from the beach we came by there after church time on a Sunday and it was covered up!

I'm in Gautier right now visiting my mom. Edd's Drive In, Huck's Place, and The Tikki for good eats. Spent the day on the boat on the Singing and Pascagoula Rivers. Nice to get out of town for a few days.

Rocky Creek catfish outside Lucedale.

I like Bozo's Grocery in Pascagoula. Is this the place that sells the seafood? Cooks crawfish for ya. If so it's jam up.

If you get further north, check out Jordans fish camp. Indeed. We found it by accident on the way to Mardi Gras on the eastern shore. Unassuming but VERY good.
