I have BC/BS medical but thought about getting Aflac in case I missed work for a extended period of time.

For disability? I don't use them, but every person who has folks depending on them needs disability insurance. It's extremely expensive though. Most folks would rather have a bass tracker payment whistle thumbup

Not Aflac, but a competitor. I had to use mine last year when I was injured while fighting fire. I was unable to work for nearly 3 months. The policy I had paid just enough to supplant the money I lost from my side job. Primary job was workers comp. Had I not had this policy it would have been a very bad Christmas.

Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.

There's so many different forms of AFLAC,cancer coverage, accident, and some other crap.Makes my head spin to listen and read this stuff.I think you can get it all for just over $100 a month(depending on age).

I have a cancer and accident policy for my family. It's around $80 month I think.

Disability income different than cancer or accident policies. Price depends on age and health and occupation other factors. Many options. Shop around. If you get DI, make sure you read policy information carefully and understand the difference between "any occupation" and "own occupation". It can make the difference between collecting a check or going back to "work any work" sooner than expected after injury. "Own occupation" policies are expensive. Be careful before you buy. If you have a good honest insurance agent you won't have any issues finding the right DI product.

I have the accident and life for the entire family and carry the trauma/accident policy on myself. I carry a different provider for disability because it's cheaper.

The secret to a long marriage is to keep on dating, just as you did before marriage. We have "date night" once a week.
Hers is Saturday, mine is Thursday.

The only time a married woman gives those is if your not married to them!

I have the ICU Care Policy and unfortunately have had to use it a couple of times. They paid extremely prompt and just a simple phone call and the Rep took care of the rest. Check was in my mailbox in about 3 days. My policy pays $175 a day while in ICU. It was a huge help the 3 times I used it.

Short and Long term disability, BCBS and Life insurance paid for by the company.

I have United Health care medical insurance. The wife has AFLAC on us. Don't know what kind though. It paid over 8K last year when i had a heart attack. My out of pocket was around $1200 on a $125,000 hospital bill so we made money. Glad she had it!

I used to referee football games. I realized that I ran a risk of being hurt and if I was out of work for a time that exceeded my sick leave and vacation time I would be in financial doo doo, so I call Aflac. To his credit, when he found out why I wanted it, the agent told me they wouldn't pay if I got hurt reffing because that whopping $55 a game was compensation and they don't pay if you get hurt working. I appreciated his honesty. He could have sold me the policy and I found out the hard way. Just something to keep in mind when getting one of their policies.

My wife has a disability policy and I need to find out who it was with and let everyone know. She fell the week before Christmas off of our attic ladder and broke her hip, pelvis and back. The ignorant representative of the company she had a disability policy with actually questioned her as to why she wouldn't be able to go back to teach school after Christmas break on Jan.4, I believe it was. Then started asking my wife questions to "catch her" like "are you going to a New year's Eve party?" "If you go are you going to dance?" My wife finally laughed at her and told her "my husband teaches Interview and Interrogations to law enforcement officers, I would suggest your company hire him to teach y'all because this is the most ignorant interview I've ever had." They finally paid what they were supposed to. But my wife's cousin, the Asst. School superintendent had to threaten to bar them from the district insurance fair.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.
