I recently bought a Stihl MS 180 and wish I had bought a bigger unit. Just doesn't seem to have the power my old Poulan did.

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

Husqvarna 445 would be perfect for that. Not too big, but big enough

If you are not going to do any real heavy consistent cutting, I would go to tractor supply and get a Jonsered. We have a couple at the far. They have not given a minutes trouble, are light weight for the power. We have a 2238 and a 2245. I reach for them unless I am cutting something big that requires our big stihl with a 24 inch bar.

I also have the 455 Rancher, by far the best saw I've ever had.

I have owned a couple of Husky saws. The ones I had were hard to crank and heavy as hell.

Husqvarna makes Poulan, Jonsered and Husqvarna saws. Occasional major differences but usually very minor or none but color when comparing apples to apples...

Got a couple of the 455 ranchers and they are good saws. I have an echo 590 too and it is a good saw, actually use it more than the ranchers. If I had to to use one all the time I'd take the husky 372xp or 572xp, that's my go to saws there, they will get it.

Been pleased with the Echo CS352 I picked up recently.
The 5 year warranty, light weight and easy to start is what sold me.

Yea, i got a $100 poulan, made by husqvarna, that i've had for over 10 years and it works well as long as i use 100% gas and staybil. I also run some seafoam thru it. I'm one of those that doesn't buy the top of the line stuff that i'll only use occasinally.

I have converted almost everything to Stihl and have had good luck. The reason I changed was when we moved to this area 20 years ago, the only servicing dealers were Stihl. That being said, I have a Husqvarna 40 that still starts on the second pull every time. It starts much more reliably than any of my Stihl's.

If you are going to only do very light work and buy a consumer model,it really doesn't matter because they are all made pretty much the same. When I was cutting timber for a living we ran Husky because they didn't vibrate you as much as the Stihl and they seemed to turn more RPM's which helped cut through a big tree fast so it wouldn't split on you it it was leaning too much to notch it as deep as you would want.

Stihl or Husky. Only way to go. I've got a husky that I've been through 3 or 4 bars and I don't know how many chains on that still cranks and cuts like a champ. I've got a big stihl that I inherited that will cut anything regardless of size and a 12 yr old stihl pole saw that I use at the camp for clearing roads shooting lanes and firewood work that has probably cut down 150 acres worth of timber over it's life. Bars and chains are all I ever have to replace on them.

I had a husky 455 rancher that I really liked, eventually needed some work so I bought a new saw. Bought a stihl farm boss and it's a good one but heavier than the rancher. I don't think the new huskys are as good as the old ones, but as far as I can tell, nothing is

Can't speak for any other brands because I have never ran them enough to compare but I bought a stihl ms 250 and it has been a dang good one. Perfect for what you are wanting

That's possible, but I can tell you for sure there is a huge difference between the consumer stuff and the professional models.

Just to clarify,a man doesn't need a professional model to cut a few logs off the road and a bit of firewood now and then. As a professional I would burn 5 gallons of gas a day,6 days a week for years before needing a new saw and sometimes cut logs 60" diameter.
