Bear took a bite and didn't like what he felt. Same type of damage on feeders here. All there is to it. I'm sure a bear or two has travelled through there recently.

I think it was probably a bear. Those look more like claw marks and when it got the latch (covered by the finger) broke and it had what it wanted and didn't have to keep on tearing it up.

It's the evil beaver. They got mad because somebody put a pipe under the road last year and now they have damed the place up and flooded the whole road and are attacking all the feeders. We need to put a bounty on them and have a night hunt to eradicate them evil creatures.
