It may be a few hundred ft less FPS but just because one has a shorter barrel doesnt mean its less accurate than one with a longer barrel.
Id have to look at a Kimber in the range of guns mentioned.

What about the Weatherby Weatherguard Carbine ? 40" OAL and 20" barrel? Had a Vanguard .270 that shot bullet holes.... with me shooting it...lol The Vanguards(Howa action) have a good rep; though not that light at 7lbs.
