Depends but if I'm hunting here in NC it's an all day affair or until I shoot at one. Can't hunt public ground on Sundays so I gotta make that Saturday count. I typically break it up if I'm back in AL for the holidays since there's a lot going on and I don't have the time crunch like I do here.

If I'm on a WMA gun hunt I'll sit all day if needed. Usually will have some deer get pushed by me when other hunters are moving in or out.

If I'm seeing deer I'll sit as long as possible but if I haven't seen anything from daylight to about 930 I'm gone. During the rut I'll sit to about 1030 or so and if nothing is happening there I'll move to a spot to try a mid day sit. The afternoons I'll probably go from about 2:30 to dark

About 99% of the time I have my son (just turned 6) with me, so long hunts are out of the question. Our normal morning is walk in when its just light enough to not need a flashlight and if we have not seen anything 8:30 is about as long as we stay. If we are seeing animals we have made it to 10 am.

Afternoons depend on where we are going and the weather/time of year. If its cold we will get in the stand by 3 pm (depending on the stand). If its warm and early in the season we may not get there until 4 pm. We always stay until dark, unless we shoot earlier.

I might get 5 -10 hunts per year by myself. On those I try to hunt as long as I can, but I normally have something to do so it rarely ends up being any longer than when my son is with me. We are blessed to live close to where we hunt so I get to go 1-2 weekday afternoons, and normally one morning and one afternoon per weekend throughout season.

I usually go prepared to stay all day, but I let the conditions dictate. If the wind shifts and my scent begins to be blown into an area I don't want, or something like that, I'll move to a more favorable location.

I love to hunt and be in the woods, so I try to maximize my time hunting. It takes me 3 hours to drive to the hunting camp so I would rather stay out all day and hunt than to just hunt till 10:30, go in eat a big breakfast/lunch, take a nap, hang out, then head back in at 3:00.

These days my hunting revolves more around work and the kids than it does around the best times to hunt. Which usually means about an hour here and an hour there. But once late Jan and Feb get here I have learned to be there in the middle of the day as much as possible. Now that my 7 yr old daughter has started going with me some we usually only make it a couple hours each hunt.

Till my back or butt starts hurting or I otherwise just can't sit any longer.

I usually hunt all day.
I don't necessarily "sit" all day though.
I will hunt several spots and move around a good bit. On public land mostly.
I hunt Cahaba, Lowndes, Elmore, and try to hunt a new place at least once each season that I've never been to before.
