Oats, Peas, chickory when i plant my own. I also do a mix with clovers(usually Duranna as mentioned above) sometimes. Biggest buck I've killed to date was over a plot, i planted with nothing but Tecomate max attract 50/50
How many people am i willing to sacrifice for freedom? Everyone. All of them...
Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

I use the local co-op mix, orange tag. It has cereal rye, oats, wheat,cc,rape, turnips, and radishes. I like to add some yucchi and durana to all my fall mixes so it carries them late into the summer months, usually until late July or August if we get the rain.

My deer seem to prefer the yucchi over any other clover and it's knee to waist high and the deer are keeping the tops browsed off. It reseeds and I didn't even plant it last year and it's everywhere we planted it a couple of years ago

I believe in Dr. Harper's book he says 100% oats is hard to beat for a plot strictly for hunting. If you want your plot to serve as a food source during other months, you probably need to add more variety.

My favorite mixes of course depend on soil, goals, size of plot etc. My favorite mix for shooting deer over it is Black oats or Buck forage oats, crimson clover, and Winter peas. My favorite clover mix and I would put it against any brand name mix is Durana, yucci, and Mihi Persian. I overseed some bare spots with cereal rye.
